After several months on the bench, Movistar Riders announced the return of David “dav1g” Granado Bermudo to be the new IGL of the team.

There is no doubt that this is great news for the 22-year-old Spaniard and his team, as he arrives to take the place of Alejandro “alex” Masanet, who left for NiP. On the other hand, it is also fair to mention that this move comes very well for the rest of the players, as they already know each other, and the chemistry should be ideal.

Movistar Riders announce the return of dav1g as the IGL of their CS2 team

Through a post on their official Twitter/X account, Movistar Riders announced that Spaniard dav1g is returning as IGL to their CS2 division.

As we mentioned, this is nothing more than a return of dav1g to the Movistar Riders starting squad since he arrived at the team in the middle of the 2021 season. From that moment, the Spaniard and his teammates created a very solid squad that led them to qualify for the PGL Major Stockholm (for the first time in the history of the Spanish org). Then, they also finished within the TOP 4 of the IEM Cologne 2022.

However, 2023 was not what was expected for the team nor dav1g, as he could not display the great potential we saw in 2022, and the Riders had a really bad first half of the season. As a result, the organization decided to send him to the bench in July, when they signed Tiago “JUST” Moura and Adam “adamS” Marian.

Similarly, dav1g did not remain inactive since then, as, despite being benched for the Riders, he joined Project G to play some Tier 2 and 3 tournaments. At this time, dav1g was the mainstay in the team’s qualification for the CCT East Europe Series #4.

dav1g’s official return to Movistar Riders

Davi1g will again wear the Movistar Riders jersey as an IGL in the coming hours when his team faces FORZE in an ESL Challenger League S46 (Europe) match.

On the other hand, the Spanish squad will also want to start preparing for the upcoming RMRs, which grant quotas for the first Major in the CS2 era in March 2024.

One way or another, we hope that dav1g will bring all his talent and experience to Movistar Riders and that we will see that team that surprised many in the 2022 season again.
