100 Thieves Challengers sings Darshan

The LCS continues its course, and many organizations are making different changes on the fly to improve their results as soon as possible. But, on the other hand, we have teams like 100 Thieves that have been forced to change their Challengers team due to force majeure.

First of all, we have to be clear that this practice has been adopted by many organizations regardless of esports. That is to say, like any lucrative enterprise, positive results are needed for it to continue afloat, and in case there are none, drastic changes must be made to the structure.

100 Thieves signs Darshan for the remainder of the NACL

100 Thieves has announced that Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, their starting Top Lane so far, is stepping away from the lineup due to the player’s decision to prioritize his health. Thus, the team decides to sign veteran of a thousand battles, Darshan “Darshan” Upadhyaya, in what is expected to be a long-term contract.

Drashan is a 28-year-old veteran player who has not played in the top tier of the League of Legends competitive scene in several months. However, the player has been actively playing in lower-level teams. For example, in the 2022 season, Darshan played under the Cloud9 Academy banner and has been at this competitive level since 2020. On the other hand, we can mention that Darshan played the LCS Lock In in 2020, but in the regular season of the North American league, he has not played since 2019.

Darshan said:

“Nice to be back… took my first break in 10 years and it gave me a lot of space and perspective. Excited to play and learn again :)”

Good start to the season for 100 Thieves Challengers

In this NACL season, 100 Thieves Challengers has performed well enough to qualify for the NACL Spring Playoffs. The NACL playoffs start next March 11, and Darshan will have to debut with the 100 Thieves Challengers team in the best possible scenario in the postseason. With this in mind, it could be a golden opportunity for Darshan to show that he still has the makings to compete at the highest level.

In Sniper’s case, the player decided to step away from the League of Legends competitive scene last March 5, and he claimed he did so to prioritize his mental health.

“Hey guys, a little update about my current situation: I’ve experienced some health problems over the course of the past weeks. I am yet unsure exactly as to what it is, so I will be taking a temporary break from playing NACL due to wanting to prioritize my health.”

Due to this unexpected situation on Sniper’s part, the organization used Milan “Tenacity” Oleksij, Top Laner of the 100 Thieves main team, for their match against Team Liquid Academy. In the end, this match ended with a 1-1 scoreboard.

Darshan and 100 Thieves will have their first test this weekend when the NACL Spring Playoffs begin.
