While it is true that the offseason of the League of Legends competitive scene has been very surprising, 100 Thieves has just announced a move that undoubtedly left many in the community in shock.

The North American organization surprised the community last Friday, November 17, when they announced that 4 players were dropped from the roster. As a result, this move marks the beginning of the total renewal of this lineup for the LCS 2024.

Undoubtedly, we all expected 100T to make some changes for the upcoming season, as 2023 was really disappointing for them. However, no one expected these changes to include Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho.

100T announces radical changes to its League of Legends roster

Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, 100 Thieves announced the departure of 4 players from the League of Legends squad. This undoubtedly marks the beginning of an absolute renewal of the squad for the upcoming season.

As we can see, the organization says goodbye to 4 LCS superstars such as:

  • Doublelift
  • Ssumday
  • Alan “Busio” Cwalina
  • Can “Closer” Çelik

On the other hand, this indicates that the organization will build a squad around their Mid Laner, Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung, only 19 years old, under contract with 100T until the end of 2024.

Likewise, these 4 players, released by 100T, finalize their respective contracts next Tuesday, November 21, when the offseason officially starts in the LoL scene.

Rumors come true

In recent weeks, 100 Thieves and its League of Legends squad have been immersed in many rumors. Some reports detailed that Busio would join FlyQuest, while Ssumday said he was looking for a new home in early November. On the other hand, it was also reported that 100T would be close to signing Golden Guardians Jungler Kim “River” Dong-woo to fill Closer’s spot in the team’s starting roster.

What will happen to Doublelift?

We are all wondering what will happen now with LCS legend Doublelift, as his future is uncertain.

Likewise, in this period where many organizations are overhauling their roster, there is no doubt that many teams would like to have Doublelift leading a new roster. As a result, it would only be a matter of time before the 30-year-old American finds a new home.

Likewise, let’s remember that Doublelift has retired on several occasions in the past, and perhaps this departure from 100 Thieves will lead him to focus entirely on content creation.

One way or another, no doubt, starting next Tuesday, November 21, we will have absolute chaos in the LoL competitive scene. As many players’ contracts end, we will see signings left and right in all regions and leagues worldwide.
