After nearly eight years together, Li “Xiaohu” Yuanhao has decided to leave Royal Never Give Up to seek a new lease on life in his career.

Xiaohu was the League of Legends franchise player for the Chinese organization RNG, which helped usher in an era of regional and international dominance for the team.

Thanks to the excellent leadership of this experienced player, RNG became a constant threat in the various world events they participated in throughout their extensive tenure with the organization.

Xiaohu and RNG

We can’t say anything other than that a beautiful love story in the League of Legends competitive scene has ended.

Together, Xiaohu and RNG won the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) three times, being the only team in the history of esports to win an event of this magnitude three times.

In this 2022 season, RNG managed to finish among the top 8 teams in the World, the fifth time in history that they achieved it after Xiaohu’s arrival to the team in 2015.

New team for Xiaohu

Xiaohu’s new home for the 2023 season will be Weibo Gaming. The organization announced this new signing through the Chinese social media application Weibo.

The team’s statement notes:

“We are delighted to announce to everyone that after friendly communication between the club and the players, Li Yuanhao (ID: Xiaohu), the former center laner of RNG eSports club, officially joined the League of Legends lineup of WBG eSports club, and will work for hand in hand with us with ID: WBG.Xiaohu to compete in the future stage of the competition.”

Weibo Gaming

This LPL organization had the most outstanding success in its history in the 2020 season when it reached the Grand Final of the League of Legends World Championship under the banner of the extinct Suning.

Since that moment, Weibo has not been able to qualify again for an international event, even though they kept the lineup that led them to the runner-up of Worlds 2020.

This season, Weibo Gaming was eliminated in the LPL Summer Playoffs, specifically in the second round, which led them to finish in eighth place in the overall LPL standings.

What to expect from Weibo Gaming in 2023

In the 2023 season, Weibo Gaming will have an exceptionally different lineup than it had in the past two seasons. Jungler SofM has announced that he will take a break from the competitive scene, while Huafeng and ON have left the team.

With the inclusion of an experienced player like Xiaohu, along with TheShy, Angel, Light, and Crisp, this revamped lineup is expected to bring them back to glory or at least qualify for Worlds 2023 and be one of the top teams in the LPL.

The LPL 2023 Spring Slit does not have an official start date yet, but it is presumed that it could be for the second week of January.

Until then, the Demacia Cup 2022 will be the perfect entertainment for League of Legends fans in China until the regular season starts in January.
