BLAST Premier World Final 2022 is set to be held in Abu Dhabi, marking BLAST’s return to the Middle East regions. The event will kick off on December 14, featuring the world’s best CS:GO teams. After five days of intense competition, on December 18, a team will be crowned the BLAST Premier champion and receive $500,000.

BLAST has revealed the details of its biggest CS:GO event of the year, which will conclude this year’s BLAST Premier season. The event, which will mark its return to the Middle East, will take place at the Etihad Arena on the Yas Marine island in Abu Dhabi. The BLAST Pro Series Global Final 2019, which saw Astralis overcome Team Liquid to win the championship, was the last BLAST tournament to take place in the Middle East.

The decision to hold the season finals in the United Arab Emirates is the outcome of BLAST’s partnership with Abu Dhabi Gaming, a local organization devoted to bringing more esports events to Abu Dhabi. The purpose of holding the competition in Abu Dhabi is to expand the tournament’s viewership while providing participants and spectators with amazing esports experiences.

Participating teams

Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan are the only two teams that have secured their spots at the World Finals so far, while the rest of the spots are still open for other teams. NAVI won the 2022 BLAST Premier Spring Finals, securing their place in the World Finals despite the controversy and the unexpected departure of their key player Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov prior to the competition.

On the other side, FaZe had a spectacular year thus far thanks to the roster’s utter dominance in S-tier events. The European team won three events in 2022, including the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, Extreme Masters XVI Katowice, and ESL Pro League Season 15.

The Fall Finals champion, IEM Rio Major champion, and ESL Pro League Season 16 champion will directly qualify for World Finals, while the remaining three slots will be decided by BLAST Premier’s global leaderboard. FaZe currently leads the chart with 13 125 points followed by NAVI with 8 462.5. ENCE, Team Vitality, and G2 are the next three teams in the standings, but they do not have a huge lead over following OG, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and FURIA Esports.

Considering the upcoming event has the potential to substantially change the standings, it is difficult to predict which three teams will advance to the World Finals. IEM Rio and BLAST Fall are planned to commence on October 31 and November 23, respectively, while ESL S16 is scheduled to start on August 31.
