The exodus of experienced players from the Call of Duty competitive scene continues. This time, Trei “Zer0” Morris, the 25-year-old British player, announced his retirement from the COD scene.

This is very sad news, especially for the player’s European fans, as he is one of the few who were still fully active in the Call of Duty League. However, it is worth noting that Zer0 is one of the most successful European CoD players so far in the competitive Call of Duty scene.

Zer0 announces his retirement from the COD scene

Through a statement on his official Twitter account, the 25-year-old British player Zer0 announced his retirement from the competitive Call of Duty scene. As a result, Zer0 joins the mass exodus of experienced players who have decided to exit the competitive scene this 2023 season.

As the official statement notes, Zer0 apologizes to all the fans and teammates who asked him to continue in the competitive scene. However, this does not mean it is goodbye for Zer0, as the statement ends with the former London Royal Ravens player saying he is available to serve as General Manager or Head Coach of any team in the CDL.

About Zer0

Since its inception in 2015, Zer0 was one of the European region’s mainstays of Call of Duty. His first team was Epsilon Esports, which did not play at the highest competitive level but also helped him improve his skills.

Then, his journey in the top tier of competitive COD, that is, in the Call of Duty League, began in 2019 when he signed with FaZe Clan. Then, he was part of the New York Subliners, Team Singularity, and London Royal Ravens. However, the last two years for Zer0 and the Royal Ravens have been very complicated, and, as a result, the Briton failed to stay in the team’s starting lineup consistently.

In the statement, we can see that Zer0 mentions that Call of Duty has been everything in his life for the past 10 years, and he is glad to have enjoyed everything since he was playing on his PS3. In addition, he also mentions the fact that he was the first European player to win a LAN tournament in NA and also won the MVP award.

Throughout his career, Zer0 managed to lift many championship trophies. But there is no doubt that his best year was 2020, as the London Royal Ravens finished fourth in the overall standings of the Call of Duty League.

On the other hand, two game legends are retiring in recent weeks, as Sam “Octane” Larew announced his retirement at the end of June from the competitive COD scene. Many talented and young players want to take control of the competitive Call of Duty scene, remembering that the new season starts at the end of 2023.
