Will Revenant Reborn reappear in Apex Legends?

The launch of Apex Legends season 16 is just a few days away. This new season promises to be one of the essentials Respawn developers have prepared for game fans.

It is important to comment that there will not be any new characters as the developers have taken an off-season to introduce many changes to the existing characters, game modes, user interface, and much more.

However, we won’t have to wait long for a new legend to appear. For some time now, rumors have been circulating about the possible new legend that will enter battle in season 17. In addition, recent leaks have also hinted that a current legend could be wholly reworked or even “replaced” entirely.

Leaks about Revenant Reborn

Some leaks have been shared on Apex Insider Thordan Smash’s YouTube channel. According to Thordan Smash and his source, the character is known as “Revenant Reborn” in some internal game builds.

Revenant Reborn supposedly replaces Revenant in specific builds and does not have its place. So far, it is unclear whether this is a modification of Revenant or a completely new character.

The new Revenant also has an ultimate sinister ability: Revenant Reborn launches a missile instead of building a Death Totem. Whoever it hits with it, Revenant will take them into the Void, where it looks like the two players engage in a one-on-one fight.

If the leaks are accurate, this would be the first time a Void-based ability would not be related to invulnerability. Ash’s ultimate ability and Wraith’s skill kit are designed to immerse players in the Void. They are immune to damage as they travel from place to place. In contrast, this Void ultimate ability is very different and fits perfectly with Revenant’s description of it as a “manufactured horror.”

For some time now, Revenant has been ready for a thorough overhaul. Unfortunately, with a lengthy Silence tactic that nullifies opposing abilities and her ultimate ability, which causes teams to kill a Revenant team twice, she is a character that is incredibly annoying to fight against.

These irritating traits also hinder the character’s balance. Any tweak either makes him seem too weak to be useful or increases his value to the point of making him completely overpowered.

Instead, the new ultimate would focus entirely on skill-based one-on-one combat without worrying about teammates or enemies, making Revenant a little less annoying without losing the character’s inherent fearsome aspect.

When will Revenant Reborn appear?

It is unclear when Revenant Reborn may arrive; Thordan Smash’s source noted that it would most likely appear in Apex in season 19 or 20. Therefore, late 2023 or early 2024 would be the most likely time for the debut of this version of Revenant. That’s assuming it makes an appearance if the speculation that season 16 will be very short-lived is correct.

While it may not be the reboot of Forge that many were hoping for, it is certainly an intriguing idea that could be coming soon to Apex.
