Rumors are circulating that Vitality’s CS:GO pro Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen will miss the upcoming BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 while awaiting the birth of his child.

At least that’s what was claimed on the channel of the Twitter account CSGO Talent Scout, which cites its own sources. Of course, you don’t know exactly who that is, so you should take these rumors with a grain of salt.

The BLAST.tv Paris Major baby

Dupreeh is reportedly expecting the birth of his child during or before the Major and will be taking extended parental leave. The insider doesn’t know if Vitality will need to find a replacement for this event or sooner.

If true, this might not be the easiest situation for Vitality with two Frenchmen in the lineup. Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut have high hopes for this event, calling it the only chance of their lives. That said, there is plenty of time to put things in order and prepare for it. The Major qualifier starts in two months and Vitality will play in the RMR B which starts on April 11.

The news that dupreeh was going to be a father came in fall of 2022 when he and his partner posted a photo of the ultrasound on social media.

Vitality must be fine without dupreeh

2022 has been a difficult year for Vitality, despite high-profile signings of dupree, as well as Emil “Magisk” Reif and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen. Communication within the team appeared problematic and took its toll on the team, which seemed uncoordinated and relying too much on ZywOo.

Awin in the ESL Pro League Season 16 after the signing of ENCE star Lotan “Spinx” Giladi reignited faith in the teams, but disappointing results at the Rio Major (12th-14th place) and BLAST Premier World Final (5th-6th place) at the end of the year clouded the mood again.

“We expected more trophies, more wins,” admitted ZywOo in one of the interviews.

However, team Vitality walked into 2023 with new vigor and absolutely dominated the first event of the season — BLAST Premier 2023 Spring Groups. They secured their Spring Final spot by defeating three teams: Astralis, Evil Geniuses, and Heroic.

A little less successful, yet still a remarkable performance was their IEM Katowice 2023 showing, where they first had to overcome a very complex path against a resurgent Fnatic and a spectacular NiP. In a couple of opportunities, the French had very close to being eliminated in this IEM Katowice, but ZywOo managed to lead his team to playoffs. In the quarterfinals, Team Liquid took care of Vitality’s elimination, putting them in the 5th-6th place.
