Carlos Rodriguez, formerly known as Ocelote, was a familiar face in esports until he was canceled after partying with controversial figure Andrew Tate.

What became of him after the scandal? Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez is a former SK Gaming professional League of Legends player and was the CEO of the well-known organization G2 Esports.

Trouble with Ocelote

During his time in esports, Carlos Rodriguez was not without controversy and he always attracted attention because he always said what he wanted without thinking too much about the consequences. Then, in 2022, Ocelote hit it big when he was spotted partying with Andre Tate at a Bucharest club.

Then there was a massive backlash because Andrew Tate is a very controversial figure who is mainly associated with misogyny and shady deals. G2 had no sympathy for this friendship and Ocelote had to resign after he clarified via Twitter that he would not be told who he could and couldn’t be friends with.

Even after losing his job, he has maintained his friendship and admiration for Andrew Tate. Ocelote had apparently found his lost father figure and, after the dramatic ending at G2, tried to follow his friend and role model Andrew Tate in every way he could.

Where is Carlos Rodriguez today?

Not much is known about what Rodriguez is up to now, but apparently he’s based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and seems to be a big fan of the country. He’s apparently still friends with Andrew Tate and often retweets what he tweets.

What exactly he does now professionally is unclear. But it’s obvious that he doesn’t have much to do with esports anymore, more trying to rebuild his image and maybe use his notoriety for a different kind of business. He has distanced himself from the esport image and instead of wearing a tie-dye hoodie, he now wears suits, takes photos with expensive cars and likes to show pictures of expensive life in Dubai.

He probably has enough money so that he doesn’t have to work for the time being, because G2 was or is a very successful organization in esports, which must have made a lot of money and will have paid him a lot as ex-CEO.

In his tweets he promises great things for his future. What exactly that is supposed to be, however, is not yet clear. It’s unlikely to have anything to do with esports, though, as it seems the gaming scene is a burnt area he won’t be returning to.

Entering a new area seems more likely, a fresh start without legacy issues. In esports, he would likely be confronted with the Andrew Tate story over and over again and would have to justify his association with him over and over again.

Instead, he’s switched sides and seems to have found a new following, namely those who like Andrew Tate’s stuff. He often posts or reposts content along these lines and has obviously found a few people to applaud him for it.
