Out of numerous esports titles that are slowly returning into the offline environment, competitive Tekken is next to announce its comeback! Following two years without LAN Tekken events, Bandai Namco has revealed the Tekken World Tour 2022, set to begin on June 24. 

The international Tekken 7 series will see players from 16 regions battling in online and offline competition running throughout 2022, with the Tekken World Tour 2022 finals scheduled to take place in early 2023. 

TWT 2022 tournament structure 

According to the announcement, the 2022 Tekken World Tour will consist of five Offline Master Events and 13 Regional Final Events, that will provide players with opportunities to earn points towards a qualification in the Global Finals. 

The tournament structure will be split into Dojo and Master events, with Dojo events being region-locked and Master being region-free competition. Both event categories will culminate into Dojo Prime or Master Prime titles. Once the Regional Finals conclude, the leaders of each respective regional ranking will be granted a seed in the finals. 

The 2022 Tekken World Tour will add North Africa and Pakistan to the list of regions, which also includes West Europe, East Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Philippines & East Asia, Oceania, Japan, Korea, Middle East, West Africa and South Africa. 

TWT2022 Events

Start at CEO 2022

The TWT 2022 tournament series is set to kick off with the first Master competition on Jun 24 as a part of the CEO 2022 Fighting Game Championships. The event hosted by the Community Effort Orlando Gaming will run between June 24 – 26 in Daytona Beach, Florida, US. 

Besides Tekken 7, CEO 2022 will feature a whole range of fighting games, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Melee, Street Fighter V: Championship Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, King of Fighters XV, SoulCalibur VI, Guilty Gear -STRIVE- and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, among others. 

The rest of the Master TWT events include VSFighting X, REV Major and The Mixup!. The only TWT Master Prime event will be a part of the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) 2022.
