The VCT EMEA League wrapped up another week of matches, and Fnatic and NaVi are looking strong as ever. Fnatic secured a comfortable victory to maintain their top spot, while NaVi continued to dominate their opponents in their matches. In contrast, Team Heretics and KOI are struggling to find their footing in the league. Karmine Corp managed to secure their second win of the week, but they remain vulnerable as their overall performance has been inconsistent.

Let’s recap the matches of VCT EMEA League week 5:

Team Liquid defeats Giants Gaming

In a highly anticipated match between Team Liquid and Giants Gaming, both teams entered with identical 3-2 records in the VCT EMEA League, making the game a crucial one. Despite losing the first map of Ascent, Team Liquid mounted a strong comeback in the second map of Split, eventually securing a 13-11 win. The decider map of Lotus was a closely contested battle, but Team Liquid managed to edge out Giants Gaming 13-10 to claim the series victory. This win will undoubtedly significantly boost Team Liquid’s confidence and league standings.

BBL Esports outshines Team Heretics

BBL Esports secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Team Heretics in the league, marking their second tournament win. The first map of Haven was a tightly contested battle, with BBL Esports emerging as the eventual winners in the second overtime with a 14-12 score. Team Heretics managed to level the series by winning the second map of Lotus by 13-10, but BBL Esports dominated the final map of Icebox with a 13-2 score. The win strengthens BBL Esports’ position in the league, while Team Heretics will need to regroup.

Karmine Corp comfortably defeats KOI

Karmine Corp and KOI faced off on day 3 of the VCT EMEA League week 5, both teams struggling with a poor record. Karmine Corp dominated the first map of Lotus with a convincing 13-6 victory. However, KOI displayed a remarkable comeback in the second map of Ascent, securing a 13-8 win. The third and deciding map of Haven saw both teams fiercely battling it out, with Karmine Corp ultimately prevailing 13-11 after a series of closely contested rounds. With this hard-fought victory, Karmine Corp secured their second win in the league, while KOI’s struggles continued with just a win.

Fnatic shuts FUT Esports

In the follow-up match of day 3, Fnatic faced off against FUT, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory. In the first map of Icebox, Fnatic gained a 2-round lead in the first half and eventually swept the second half with a resounding 13-5 score to seal the map. Moving onto the second map of Lotus, Fnatic continued their dominant form, once again securing a convincing 13-5 win. With this triumph, Fnatic extended their unbeaten run in the league, winning all 5 matches without conceding a single map. FUT, on the other hand, is still in a comfortable position despite the defeat.

NaVi overcomes Team Vitality

In the final match of the day, NaVi emerged victorious in a closely fought encounter against Team Vitality with a 2-0 scoreline. Vitality struggled on their own map pick of Split, only managing to secure 3 rounds in the first half. Despite a valiant effort to bounce back in the second half, NaVi managed to secure the map with a narrow 13-10 score. Moving onto the final map of Fracture, we saw a similar pattern with a one-sided first half followed by a neck-and-neck battle in the latter half. However, NaVi once again emerged triumphant with a 13-10 score.

The next week of action will commence on May 3 onwards where Team Vitality will meet against Fnatic.
