Let’s recap the opening day in VCT Pacific League week 8:

100 Thieves vs FURIA

Pearl

FURIA began their match with a strong pick on Pearl as their defender’s side. They secured a 7-5 lead in the first half. However, in the pivotal 24th round, 100 Thieves emerged triumphant, securing the map 13-11 and clinching the match 2-1.

Unlike the previous maps, this victory was a testament to the exceptional teamwork displayed by every player in critical moments.

Evil Geniuses vs MIBR

The second match of the day also belonged to the North American side by defeating the Brazilian counterpart. Evil Geniuses defeated MIBR 2-0 to secure 4th win in the league. Just like 100 Thieves, this match was also important for EG. On the other hand, MIBR is now nowhere near the playoffs race.

Lotus

Despite being MIBR’s map pick, the first half painted a grim picture for them, with an overwhelming 10-2 score in favor of EG. It was a display of complete dominance by EG, leaving MIBR struggling to find its footing. The second half unfolded in a similar fashion, with MIBR failing to secure a single round. The map concluded with a resounding 13-2 score in favor of EG. Max “demon1” Mazanov from EG was on a roll with 22 Kills at 1.9 KD and 381 ACS.
