Get ready, Valorant fans! The 23rd agent is on their way to join the lineup. Riot Games had planned to release a total of three agents this year. Gekko, the first agent, was released in February during VCT LOCK//IN. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the second planned agent of the year, who will also be the 23rd agent in the overall agent map pool. VALORANT Agent 23 role and origin

As previously mentioned, Gekko was the most recent agent added in Episode 6 Act 2, fulfilling the role of an Initiator. Considering this, it is highly likely that the next agent, codenamed “Cashew,” will be either a Controller or a Sentinel.

This choice makes sense since Riot Games typically avoids releasing two same roles in a row. Personally, I am inclined towards the idea of Cashew being a Sentinel, as the current agent map pool lacks representation for that particular role. It’s worth noting that the last Sentinel added was Chamber way before.

Though details about the agent’s origin are scarce, a teaser image from Riot Games depicting a coffee cup and a heart-shaped waffle with brown cheese hints at a possible Norwegian or Dutch background. The addition of another European agent seems imminent.

Valorant Agent 23 abilities

While no official confirmation has been made about the upcoming agent’s abilities, the developers have provided a tantalizing hint, describing them as someone who can immobilize and draw opponents closer. This suggests a trap-focused sentinel, akin to Killjoy or Cypher.

Fans were thrilled by this description and eagerly await the new agent’s arrival. The accompanying image showcases Agent 23 working with various gadgets on a tabletop, reinforcing the notion that their abilities revolve around traps or trip devices. A Battle Pass card referencing a “death trap” device further supports this concept, aligning with the tabletop visuals.

Valorant Agent 23 release date

The exact release date for VALORANT Agent 23 remains undisclosed, with limited information available. However, following the pattern set by Gekko’s release during the streamers’ showdown at VCT LOCK//IN, it is speculated that the upcoming agent might debut during the TEAM Deathmatch showmatch at the VCT Masters Tokyo Grand Finals.
