Following a disappointing performance in the first split of the North American Challengers League, FaZe Clan overhaul its Valorant roster for the new season.

Face Clan has replaced Quan “dicey” Tra and Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo with Turtle Troop players Tanner “TiGG” Spanu and Anthony “mummAy” DiPaolo on their Valorant roster. With this move, Dicey’s 15-month stay with the FaZe Clan came to an end today. He had previously played for teams like Prospects, Immortals, and 100 Thieves before joining the group in January 2022. In the VCT North America Stage 2 Challengers, FaZe put on an outstanding performance with dicey and finished third, narrowly missing out on a berth at Masters.

On the other side, Rossy, who previously had brief experiences with TSM and Immortals, joined FaZe prior to the Challenger League this year. FaZe Clan continued to struggle despite the acquisition of Rossy, finishing seventh in the first NA Challengers league split with a 2-3 record after losing to Moist Moguls, G2, and Oxygen Esports.

Despite a weak showing, the group was able to qualify for Mid-Season Face-Off, where they were eliminated in the opening round following devastating losses against The Guards and G2. As a result, the group decided to make changes, adding TiGG and mummAy, both of whom recently entered NA Challengers and joined Turtle Troop in the middle of the split.

TiGG and mummAy found a new home for Split 2

Turtle Troop was down 0-2 in the Challengers prior to the arrival of TiGG and mummAy. The team finished the Challengers with a 2-1 record and narrowly missed the Mid-Season Face Off with the two new players. TiGG has been involved in the North American valorant scene ever since he served as the IGL for Luminosity Gaming.

The second acquisition, mummAy, on the other hand, has a tenacious Valorant career that spans numerous teams and began in 2020, back in the early days of Valorant. He was one of the first CS:GO players to leave Valve’s game and switch to the Valorant competitive scene. His choice paid off after Envy picked his squad to enter the Valorant scene and ride the hype surrounding Riot’s FPS shooter.

He stayed with ENVY for a year before being replaced in August 2021 by Jaccob “yes” Whiteaker, who helped the team become a major force on the world stage. Before joining Turtle Troop in 2023, the 28-year-old American player competed for a few tier-two North American clubs, including New York Fury.
