The Thunderpick World Championship 2023 has reached its final stage, and the best 8 teams of the Group Stage will be present in the playoffs with a clear objective: to win the $250,000 the tournament champion gets.

There is no doubt that we have had many emotions, surprises, and disappointments in this tournament. Regarding surprises, we are talking about the excellent show of quality of Team Spirit, who qualified in first place in Group C after beating Complexity Gaming and MOUZ, two of the best teams in the world today.

On the other hand, we have several disappointments, such as FURIA, COL, Fnatic, and NiP, who fell short in their attempt to qualify for the next phase of this tournament. One way or another, we have enjoyed many exciting matches.

Format

As has become customary in most online tournaments in recent months, we have decided that the playoff format will be Single-Elimination. However, in this opportunity, all matches are best of 3 (BO3), including the Grand Final.

On the other hand, let’s remember that this is a win-or-die format since the winning team advances to the next phase. However, the loser will immediately return home.

Schedule

Now, we come to the important thing: the matchups, dates, and times of the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 playoffs.

We will have some intense and exciting matches, well that’s on the table. However, as always, in online tournaments, we can always expect some surprises regarding the underdogs.

Below, we bring you how the schedule of these playoffs will be.

  • Cloud9 vs. BIG – November 3 at 16:00 CET
  • FaZe Clan vs. MOUZ – November 3 at 19:00 CET
  • Team Spirit vs. Monte – November 3 at 10:00 CET
  • Heroic vs. Virtus.pro – November 3 at 13:00 CET

As we can see, all BO3s will be full of a lot of intensity, as the teams have shown great play at the beginning of the CS2 era. On the other hand, speaking of favorites, we cannot overlook FaZe Clan, as they come from being champions of the first tournament in the CS2 era, the IEM Sydney 2023.

Likewise, we cannot rule out Monte, MOUZ, Cloud9, and BIG, who have also played at a high level and consistently performed in recent weeks.

What we are sure of is that we will have spectacular matches. Each team will want to give a blow on the table to show what they are made of and that they are willing to fight for the championship trophy and each tournament they play.

Finally, the remaining 8 teams will leave everything in each round of each map to try to take home the juicy prize of $250,000.
