There is no doubt that there is a lot of expectation regarding the release of CS2 in the community, not only in Counter-Strike but in esports in general. Many legends who decided to jump to VALORANT would be considering returning to Valve’s shooter if the new game meets their expectations.

Several months ago, there was talk of the possible return of American legend Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip to the Counter-Strike scene with the arrival of CS2. However, this remained rumors for all this time until Stewie2K himself shared some posts on his Twitter account that, without a doubt, made us think that it was an imminent return.

Stewie2K is excited about CS2

In a live stream on his Twitch channel last September 6, Stewie2K played CS2 and showed that even though he has been away from the game for a long time, it still has much to offer. Many in the community thought and were sure that Stewie2K would be burnt out or rusty, but his games and plays were spectacular.

Recall that Stewie2K stepped away from CS:GO in 2022 and, since that time, began his career as a content creator for VALORANT. In addition, it is also worth noting that the American tried to play the Riot Games shooter professionally. Still, he could not qualify with his team for the VCL NA, so he remained in his facet as a content creator.

However, now that CS2 is much closer to its official release, it is more than likely that Stewie2K will start streaming his CS2 games and, above all, showing his best possible attitude, just like he did when he was pro in CS:GO. After watching clips of his CS2 games, there is no doubt that Stewie2K keeps his aim, game sense, and moves intact.

Stewie2K’s return to professional Counter-Strike?

While the talent, skills, and desire are certainly there, Stewie2K will likely not return to the professional Counter-Strike scene. Sure, he can bring a lot to any Tier 1 team looking to sign him, but it’s no secret to anyone that this is one of the most popular content creators out there right now, with over 1.3M followers on Twitch.

As a result, it is more than likely that he will decide to stick to his Content Creator facet, as that is how he makes a living.

On the other hand, we also can’t rule out that Stewie2K will start doing CS2 and VALORANT streams, which would certainly increase his community and, of course, could increase his followers.
