Tekken fighters will get ready as the next battle will also be part of one of the biggest esports competitions worldwide.

Tekken 8 will be part of the Esports World Cup, based on an announcement from the Esports World Cup Foundation last March 28th.

“#TEKKEN8 has arrived bringing the most intense showdowns to the #EsportsWorldCup stage,” the organization said in a post.

While registration and tournament details are yet to be announced, the EWC will add another layer of competition to the worldwide Tekken tours, following a stacked esports calendar from April to October.

The Esports World Cup will serve as the second major Tekken competitive event in the MENA region for 2024, and will precede the Emirates Showdown 2024 in Dubai, UAE. However, there is no news yet if the EWC will be treated as a Masters event, which also signifies that it will be part of a high-level Tekken competitive circuit, the Tekken World Tour.

The Esports World Cup is part of Saudi Arabia’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy. “The Esports World Cup is the natural next step in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become the premier global hub for gaming and esports, offering an unmatched esports experience that pushes the boundaries of the industry. The competition will enhance our progress towards realizing the Vision 2030 objectives of diversifying the economy, growing the tourism sector, creating new jobs in various industries, and providing world-class entertainment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Previously, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Rocket League, Fortnite, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft II, Counter-Strike 2,Honor of Kings, PUBG Battlegrounds, PUBG Mobile, Overwatch 2, Dota 2, and other titles have been announced for the 2024 Esports World Cup.
