Players have been dreaming of a first-person mode for Fortnite forever, and it looks like Epic Games has already been working on adding it to the game

Epic Games has released a new update for Fortnite, which highlights, among other things, new content regarding the Dragon Ball collaboration. As usual, the community has dug into the archives of this patch, discovering new features that the company has not officially reported.

These could be clues to future Battle Royale features and mechanics, such as a first-person camera and a mysterious quest system.

Data miner reveals first-person mode in Fortnite

A popular data miner has revealed that Fortnite may receive first-person mode very soon. This miner is none other than ShiinaBR, who posted this news after Fortnite received a new update on all platforms.

As we see, ShiinaBR shows an image where you can see how Fortnite would look from the first-person perspective.

The files for the first-person mode have been added with the new game update. And this data miner has quickly revealed it. However, having no official information regarding this, it is unclear if this mode would be restricted to Battle Royale or if players can use it in Creative mode.

Many things in this update are unclear, as the added files may be to test something in the game rather than being a future game feature.

However, this is not the first time Fortnite players have heard about a possible first-person mode in Fortnite. This has been sounding very loud since June 2022.

Epic is in the habit of releasing new game modes

In Fortnite, new game modes are nothing unusual, as Epic Games always tries to find new experiences for players. All this with the mission to keep all fans hooked on their product.

Remember that last year, they launched the “No Build Mode,” which has become as played as the original game mode with builds. However, adding a first-person game mode does not change the game’s basic mechanics but also affects the gameplay. That is why, if this becomes official, it is likely that very few game modes will integrate this feature.

This first-person mode would undoubtedly change the game’s rules and may also come when the game is going through a drought. So it would not be surprising that Epic Games would follow the strategy with the first-person mode, and we would get to see it along this same 2023.

On the other hand, we have the commercial strategy of Fortnite, based on cosmetics and Skins, that we, as a player, can see thanks to the third person. However, many first-person games sell skins but do not make as much noise as Epic Games’ Battle Royale.
