Team Vitality has officially announced the signing of 18-year-old rising star Kimmie “Kicks” Laasner. Adding this player to the roster represents an exciting development for both Vitality and the young player who is seeking to prove himself against the best.

Before landing in Team Vitality’s lineup in 2023, Kicks had already embarked on an impressive journey through various competitive teams. He showcased his skills with Human Tripwires, London Esports, and Team Finest. However, it was in 2023 that he truly began to make waves. Kicks took part in Challengers: Polaris as a key member of the bonk team, securing a commendable fifth-place finish in Split 1, narrowly missing out on playoffs.

His journey continued in March 2023 when he joined Laterious, competing in Challengers: DACH Evolution. Despite giving it his all, the team achieved a fifth-place finish in Split 2, once again narrowly missing out on playoff qualification. Following his departure from Laterious in May 2023, Kicks found himself in the free-agent market until Team Vitality came calling. Throughout his career, Kicks has been known for excelling in the initiator-flex role, showcasing his versatility and adaptability.

The new Vitality Roster

The revamped Vitality roster combines experience with youthful potential, promising exciting developments for Team Vitality in the upcoming season. The addition of Kicks highlights the team’s recognition of the importance of fresh talent and young prospects in the esports industry. New blood brings enthusiasm and innovative gameplay strategies, and young players often have the drive to prove themselves on the big stage.

Nurturing young talent not only contributes to the team’s success but also benefits the broader esports community. Fans are eagerly anticipating Kicks’ performance and the impact he can make in the competitive Valorant scene.

The esports community’s early reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans expressing excitement and support for Kicks’ addition to Team Vitality. While some questions arose about the team’s decision to have multiple coaches per player, overall, the community is looking forward to seeing what this new roster can achieve.
