What was an open secret is now a complete reality! Team Vitality confirmed the rumors by announcing the signing of Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam as the new Head Coach of its CS2 division.

Undoubtedly, this was one of the expected moves by Team Vitality. Let’s remember that they needed a coach of a high caliber with a lot of experience and, above all, a lot of trajectory. In addition, he could fill the shoes of Danny “zonic” Sørensen, who decided to leave for Team Falcons.

Team Vitality confirms the signing of XTQZZZ as new CS2 Head Coach

Through a statement on its official Twitter/X account on October 13, Team Vitality confirmed the signing of XTQZZZ as the team’s new Head Coach.

This move becomes the second opportunity XTQZZZ will have to hold hands with Team Vitality in the upcoming CS2 tournaments. Recall that the Frenchman was Vitality’s Head Coach from 2018-2021, so he is completely familiar with the organization.

During his tenure, Team Vitality won important tournaments, such as CS_Summit 4 and ECS S7 in 2019. In addition to winning the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020.

However, XTQZZZ decided to leave Team Vitality in early 2022 to join the ambitious project of G2 Esports, which had as star signings two talented players like Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. Similarly, XTQZZZ was only in G2 for 9 months, as the team’s performance was not up to the mark.

Finally, XTQZZZ embarked on creating a project and selling it to some Tier 1 organization, TSM. However, after two months, he got the opportunity to coach the #1 ranked Counter-Strike team in the world, and, of course, it’s impossible to say no.

IEM Sydney is XTQZZZ’s first test

There is no time to waste, as Team Vitality announced the signing of XTQZZZ just three days before the start of IEM Sydney, which will be the first major tournament to be played in CS2. Similarly, Vitality stated that the French coach cannot travel to Australia for the tournament. However, they announced that Mathieu “MaT” Leber would assist the team in the tournament.

In the official statement from Team Vitality, XTQZZZ said that he was very excited to return to what was his home for 3 years. In addition, he also points out that he has many expectations in this new era of CS2 and wants to fulfill them all in this team. Finally, the Frenchman mentioned wanting to replicate and surpass Vitality’s successes.

Team Vitality will play their first IEM Sydney match against BetBoom next Monday, October 16, 2023. It is also fair to mention that Vitality shares Group A with NaVi, MOUZ, Apeks, FaZe Clan, Vertex, and GamerLegion.
