Team Vitality and Giants crush Heretics and KCorp in final week of VCT EMEA

The VCT EMEA League regular season is ending, and teams are fighting for their tickets to the tournament playoffs. In Week 8, we have Team Vitality and Giants getting crushing 2-0 victories over Team Heretics and Karmine Corp.

Thanks to this victory, Team Vitality is, for now, holding on to the last playoff spot, pending what happens in the BBL Esports match. Meanwhile, Giants qualified for the next phase and, in addition, secured their place in the TOP 4 of the table.

Let’s see what happened in these two matches of week 8 of the VCT EMEA League.

Team Vitality annihilate Team Heretics by 2-0

With spectacular teamwork, Team Vitality managed to take a solid 2-0 win over Team Vitality to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the tournament playoffs. As for Heretics, it was only their seventh loss of the tournament, and they should be preparing for the rest of the season right now.

The series was played at Haven (VIT) and Lotus (TH).

Haven

Team Heretics came very close to surprising Team Vitality in this series and dealt them a hard blow. However, the Bees reacted in time to take the 13-10 victory.

The first half was spectacular for Team Heretics, as we could see how the Vitality boys could not break through the solid defense of the Spanish team. As a result, Heretics took the partial victory by 8-4.

However, everything changed in the second half, as Team Vitality managed to stop each of Heretics’ offenses to take the victory 13-10. All players did their job perfectly; it was a deserved victory.

Lotus

Then, in the Team Heretics map pick, we could see a close game that had to be defined in several Overtime rounds. However, Team Vitality prevailed to take the victory by 15-13.

Team Vitality started their attacking side very strong in Lotus and managed to take the victory in the first half by 8-4. However, at the change of sides, the Spaniards woke up greatly. In addition, with a spectacular Auni “AvovA” Chahade, they could take the game to Overtime. Finally, Team Vitality took the victory 15-13 to stay in the playoffs qualification positions.

Giants strike another blow to KCorp

Giants got a very comfortable 2-0 victory over Karmine Corp, giving the French team the seventh blow in a disappointing regular season.

The series was played at Lotus (KCorp) and Ascent (Giants).

Lotus

Everything pointed to it being an extremely easy series for the Giants boys due to the level of play KCorp has shown throughout the tournament. However, KCorp would not sit back on their map pick.

The first half ended with a crushing partial victory by KCorp by 9-3, demonstrating absolute ferocity on their attacking side. However, when the sides changed, they began to show their defensive flaws and could not withstand the whirlwind of the Giants, who managed to send the game to Overtime.

Finally, Giants managed to take the victory by 16-14 to sign an excellent comeback.

Ascent

In Ascent, the Giants’ map pick, everything was very different. The KCorp guys completely dropped their arms after Giants’ comeback in the first map and were crushed by 5-13.

Karmine Corp continued to show a lot of problems when defending and allowed Giants to take the partial victory in the first half by 8-4. However, at the change of sides, Giants continued their excellent pace of play to win the remaining five rounds to take a comfortable 13-5 victory.
