Team Liquid’s roster only has two players left: NAS and YEKINDAR. They also happen to be the strongest members of the team. But how will Liquid replace three players at this moment in time? Who would be interested in joining them?

Given that only two players are left and both of them are among the world’s best, it’s not that hard to imagine other skilled players joining them. What is going to be difficult is finding suitable players at a time when several other teams have the same objective and a lot of money to spend.

Team Falcons, for example, have not yet announced their roster. Only the coach (zonic) and two active players are known: BOROS and Magisk. Three more players need to be acquired from somewhere.

Liquid will have a few months to find replacements because it’s almost the end of the season and the new important tournaments start around late-January. The problem is that the longer they wait, the less time they will get to train for the new season.

The fact that events are now played in Counter-Strike 2 further complicates things because the game is constantly evolving at this moment in time. With so many variables to be taken into account, it’s very hard to formulate a winning strategy.

Team Liquid’s recent results

Team Liquid played in lots of tournaments this year, but for the most part failed to get good results. They had just two notable performances: 3rd – 4th at IEM Katowice and 5th – 8th at BLAST.tv Paris Major. Other than that, there is nothing to talk about.

In almost every single competition, they finished in the bottom half. And in some cases, such as IEM Cologne and ESL Pro League S18, they finished among the last.

There’s a reason why the decision was made to radically change the roster. Such decisions are not fun to make. They are risky, costly, and involve a lot of work after they’re made. But something had to be done.

Liquid do not have a single tournament presence until the start of the season. And I’m including both S-tier and A-tier tournaments here. They are simply not among the best teams in the world anymore. Their global ranking is 22nd, but that’s mostly an illusion. In reality, they’re not even in the top 30.
