After a disappointing season, Team Liquid decided to wipe the slate clean and put together a solid roster to help them exceed all expectations.

There is no doubt that the team’s new roster is full of promising talent and, above all, veterans of the scene. However, everything indicates the team has what it takes to fight for the top in EMEA and international tournaments in 2024.

Team Liquid announces new VALORANT lineup

Through a post on its Twitter/X account, Team Liquid announced its new VALORANT lineup heading into VCT 2024.

We observe in the video that we have familiar faces in the lineup, as Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin and Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen remain in the team’s starting lineup. However, they now have the signings of James “Mistic” Orfila, Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy, and IGL Enzo “Enzo” Mestari.

There is no doubt that this squad has everything to succeed in EMEA and the world, as the talent of all the players is undeniable. As a result, we expect Team Liquid to be fighting for glory in EMEA again and in international tournaments.

Team Liquid and 2023 full of ups and downs

In the 2023 season, Team Liquid had many ups and downs during the VCT EMEA League regular season. However, the team generated a lot of expectations after their excellent victory against Fnatic in the regional league Grand Final, which ended an excellent streak of 21 consecutive games won for the Black & Orange. Similarly, after winning the trophy, the team lost in the VCT Masters Tokyo to Evil Geniuses and NRG Esports.

Then, at the VCT Champions 2023, Team Liquid also did not perform well against some of the best teams in the world. As a result, the team failed to win against NaVi and LOUD, thus being eliminated from the tournament. However, the most worrying thing for the team is that they did not win a single map, which left a lot of doubts about their performance.

About the signings

We start with Keiko, a young 20-year-old British player who had a great season with Apeks. On the other hand, Mistic is a veteran in the scene since he was part of Fnatic and Apeks in the VCT competitive scene. In addition, Mistic played with Enzo in 2022 under the Fnatic banner, so both could lead this new squad.

Likewise, they should also create good synergy with nAts and Jamppi, as they have the longest time in Liquid, and, of course, much is expected from them for 2024.
