Team Liquid and Team BDS are the first eliminations from the Swiss stage of Worlds 2023

After another interesting day in the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023, Team Liquid and Team BDS became the first eliminations of the stage by accumulating their third consecutive defeat.

This is tough news for the LCS and LEC as they are left without two good representatives in the tournament. However, it is also fair to mention that they were the two teams with the least chance of advancing to the playoffs at Worlds 2023, so it is not a surprise.

In their quest for salvation and hopes of qualifying for the tournament’s next phase in Korea, neither the North Americans nor the Europeans could raise their heads. Also, remember that in this Swiss Stage, teams with 3 wins advance to the next phase, while those who accumulate 3 defeats are eliminated.

Team BDS and Liquid say goodbye to Worlds 2023

After losing their first 2 matches of the tournament, in the decisive BO3, neither Liquid nor BDS performed well in the Summoner’s Rift and were eliminated.

The first eliminated was Team Liquid, which could not face GAM Esports in a somewhat surprising series but finally ratified the problems of the North Americans.

Team BDS accompanies Team Liquid on its return flight home

And is that, hours later, Team BDS boarded the same plane as Team Liquid back home since Dplus KIA annihilated these in the elimination match with a resounding score of 0-2.

Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu displayed all his potential to lead Dplus KIA to an excellent victory and thus sent Team BDS back home empty-handed, as they failed to win a single match in this Swiss Stage.
