With the RMRs for PGL Major Copenhagen completed, let’s take a look at the teams that qualified and will compete in Denmark later this month. The tournament is scheduled to take place between March 17 – 31.

The 24 teams that will compete for $1.25 million in Copenhagen this month come from four different qualifiers. What’s remarkable is that every single organization had to earn its place. This means that the action will take place between the currently best teams in the world.

European RMR A results

In the first European RMR, teams like G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, and FaZe Clan played really well and had a relatively easy path to the Copenhagen Major. But there were also some important upsets. Team Falcons, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Fnatic did not qualify.

This came as a huge surprise in the case of some of them, because their previous results suggested that they were fully capable of securing a top-8 result at an event like this. Team Falcons, for instance, finished 3rd – 4th at IEM Katowice just weeks before this qualifier began.

Here are the qualified teams from European RMR A:

  • Virtus.pro
  • G2
  • Na’Vi
  • FaZe
  • KOI
  • Eternal Fire
  • SAW
  • AMKAL ESPORTS
  • 9Pandas (after winning the Decider Brackets)

European RMR B results

In the second European RMR, things were a lot more dramatic. Astralis, Monte, and OG failed to qualify for the Copenhagen Major, along with other known teams like GamerLegion and Preasy Esport.

Here’s who qualified:

  • MOUZ
  • Cloud9
  • Team Vitality
  • Team Spirit
  • Apeks
  • ENCE
  • ECSTATIC
  • HEROIC

Most of these teams were expected to qualify. But in some cases, the results surprised us. Cloud9, for instance, were known to be a good team. But their flawless run was something else. MOUZ also achieved something spectacular by defeating Team Spirit 2 – 0 in their third match.

American RMR results

This was another heartbreaking qualifier. Team Liquid, MIBR, and M80 will not compete in Copenhagen. Here are the five teams that qualified:

  • FURIA Esports
  • Imperial Esports
  • paiN Gaming
  • Complexity
  • Legacy

The two big surprises on this list are paiN Gaming and Legacy. The second team has a pretty strong roster, with former top players like coldzera. That explains their performance to some extent.

Asia-Pacific RMR results

In the Asia-Pacific RMR, The MongolZ and Lynn Vision Gaming unsurprisingly won the tournament and the two qualification spots for the Major.
