All the teams that will participate in the last tournament of the VALORANT Champions Tour season, the VCT Champions 2023, have been defined. In the Americas region, we enjoyed a South American duel to define the last qualifier for the tournament. KRÜ Esports defeated Leviatán to seal their ticket to the last tournament of this inaugural season in the VCT franchise era.
KRÜ Esports beat their South American colleagues from Leviatán 3-1 in a series that, really, they always had in their favor. However, the Chilean squad put up much more of a fight than they thought, so we could enjoy an exciting BO5. On the other hand, it is worth mentioning the performance of Angelo “keznit” Mori, who was the MVP of the match and finished with 167 ADR, 262 ACS, and a 1.18 Rating.
Let’s see what happened in the VCT 2023 LCQ Americas Grand Final match between KRÜ Esports and Leviatán.
KRÜ Esports beat Leviatán 3-1
The table was set for a great game, and both teams did not disappoint, as they showed their best level of play in this Grand Final match. However, KRÜ Esports proved that their victory over Cloud9 in the Upper Bracket Final match was no fluke and took a comfortable 3-1 victory. As a result, KRÜ becomes the final qualifier from the Americas for VCT Champions 2023.
The series was played in Split, Pearl, Ascent, and Lotus.
Split
It all started in Split, KRÜ’s map pick, where we observed why the guys selected this map. In the first half, KRÜ deployed a spectacular offense that, without a doubt, was practically unstoppable for the Leviatán boys, and, thanks to that, they took a comfortable 9-3 victory. Then, Leviatán couldn’t do much at the change of sides, and they fell by 5-13.

Pearl
On the second map, Pearl, Leviatán wakes up immediately to take the win to even the series at 1-1. The first half was all for KRÜ Esports, who, on their defensive side, prevented Leviatán’s attacks from taking a 7-5 partial victory. However, at the change of sides, Leviatán hit back on their defensive side, winning eight of the nine rounds to take a solid 13-8 victory.

Ascent
On the third map, Ascent, we again witnessed great play from the KRÜ guys. The first half was somewhat evenly matched, as Leviatán could stop KRÜ’s offense five times, so the partial score was 7-5 in favor of KRÜ. Then, when the sides changed, KRÜ’s defense was again an impenetrable wall, and Leviatán could only win one round. As a result, KRÜ wins by 13-6 and takes a 2-1 lead in the series.
Ascent goes the way of @KRUesports! They lead the series 2-1 and are now one map away from locking in a spot at Champions!
Will they be able to close it out on Lotus? #VALORANTLCQ

Lotus
Finally, everything was defined in Lotus, the second map picked by Leviatán, where we observed a balanced match in the first half since it ended with a partial score of 6-6.
Things continued the same way in the second half, as it was a give-and-take from the beginning. However, KRÜ Esports, supported by keznit, overcame Leviatán’s defense to take the victory by 13-10. As a result, KRÜ Esports becomes the final qualifier for VALORANT Champions 2023.
