W0xic enters free agency

Turkish AWPer, who has caused a lot of sensations thanks to his flashy way of playing with AWP, Özgür “w0xic” Eker, is once again a free agent.

Recall that w0xic showed a spectacular level of play with AWP when he played for Mousesports between 2019 and 2020. But, after two months on the Eternal Fire bench, he has finally announced that he is moving towards free agency.

Turkish AWPer w0xic is a free agent

Through a post on his Twitter account, w0xic announced that his contract with Eternal Fire had ended and that it was time to complete new goals. In writing, he says:

“I’ve got new objectives for 2023! My contract with Eternal Fire has come to an end. I’m now a free agent and willing to find a new team. I have a huge thirst for victories and motivated to prove what I’m capable of again!”

He thanked the Eternal Fire organization for the two years he was part of the team.

The 24-year-old Turk started his career at the top competitive level of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive under the Hellraiser banner in August 2017. W0xic is one of the few left-handed players in the professional CS:GO scene, and he is also considered a unicorn because of his incredible sensitivity.

The combination of these skills allowed w0xic to show powerful performances with his AWP, making him a top-tier player during his time at Hellraisers.

During his time with the team, w0xic won different Level B and C tournaments and, thanks to his AWP skills, caught the attention of Mousesports to team up with legends such as Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, Robin “ropz” Kool and David “frozen” Čerňanský.

This new Mousesports squad caused a sensation on the scene for two seasons. So much so that they managed to win the CSGO Asia Championship, a Tier S event, being the first for w0xic in his career. Furthermore, this was followed by winning the EPL S10.

This was not all; Mousesports achieved other vital victories during these seasons. Thanks to this, in 2019, he was named the 12th best player by HLTV.

After the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic, w0xic was sent to the team’s bench and later decided to sign for Cloud9, a project that failed terribly.

Birth of Eternal Fire

After the failure at Cloud9, w0xic decided to found, together with Turkish superstar, İsmailсan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, the all-Turkish organization Eternal Fire.

The organization presented itself as follows:

“Hulk is real! We are coming to breathe new life into Turkey and the world!”

During the organization’s two years, they could not achieve significant results. On November 11, 2022, w0xic announced that he was retiring from the team’s staff and would be on the bench.

In recent hours, at the end of his contract with Eternal Fire, w0xic announced that he will take a new direction in his professional career and is now a free agent.

The player will continue as a co-founder of the organization. But is looking for a new home to return to the top competitive level of CS:GO.
