The VCT Pacific League is already underway, and with only one day played, we have seen how exciting and intense this league will be in this first edition. However, one of the matches that left the best taste in our mouths was the one between Global Esports and T1, which gave us three intense maps, where it was T1 who managed to take the victory.

The Map pick did not work out for either team, as they lost their selection in this match, but that does not take away from how even and exciting the series was.

T1 beats Global Esports in its debut in the VCT Pacific League

On the opening day of the VCT Pacific League, Global Esports faced T1 in an extraordinary BO3 that reached the third map and ended with a victory for T1.

There is no doubt that Global Esports started as favorites in this match, but they could not stop T1’s attacks and ended up losing in their debut in this VCT Pacific League 2023.

On the other hand, this was the first time that Global Esports presented a roster of international players. In addition, we cannot deny that the team had a good performance, but they were not able to realize their great performance on the third map.

T1 vs. Global Esports – Match Recap

As we mentioned, it was a balanced match where the two teams could have won. The series was played on Pearl (Global Esports), Haven (T1), and Lotus (decider).

Pearl

In Pearl, Global Esports could not find their best rhythm of play on the attacking side and could only win one of the first eight rounds they played. Then, in the change of sides, they tried to turn their situation around and managed to win up to eight rounds, but T1 had almost all the work done and took the victory 13-8.

Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beam, who finished with 205 ADR and a 1.37 Rating, stood out for T1.

Haven

As we mentioned, the teams won their rival’s Map picks; that is to say, this time, it was Global Esports who came out victorious. However, unlike the first map, where Global Esports could not attack in the best way, it was completely different in Haven, as it dominated and hit T1 hard during the first half.

Finally, thanks to an excellent performance by Kim “t3xture” Na-ra (205 ADR and 1.44 Rating), Global Esports took a comfortable 13-4 victory.

Lotus

Finally, in the decisive map, Global Esports again started the match on the attacking side. However, something similar to the first map happened, as T1 recovered quickly after the beating in Haven.

Although Global Esports tried to recover at some point in the map, T1 was relentless in their attack and managed to get the victory on the map 13-7 that, gave them the first victory in this VCT Pacific League 2023.

Son “xeta” Seon-ho charged T1 with 178 ADR and a 1.79 Rating on this map.

The VCT Pacific League actions continue with matches on Sunday and Monday, then take a break and return next weekend.
