The strong rumors about signings in the different regions of the VCT continue now that we are in the offseason. This time, reports claim that MIBR is nearly signing three superstars for the next VCT season.

While it is true that these are only rumors, the fact that this is being considered, and if it comes true, there is no doubt that MIBR would be one of the best teams in the region and could easily compete with anyone at the international level.

We are talking about names like Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, Erick “aspas” Santos, and Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella, three phenomenal players who, without a doubt, could be the main stars of any of the VCT teams. On the other hand, this would mean that MIBR is determined to wipe the slate clean with its lineup and, more importantly, move away from Brazil.

MIBR close to signing yay, aspas, nitr0,

According to reports from the Brazilian web portal, valorantzone.gg, MIBR is reportedly close to signing 3 superstars, aspas, yay, and nitr0, ahead of VCT 2024. As a result, MIBR would be building a purely international squad, which would take them completely away from their “roots.”

It is no secret to anyone that MIBR did not have, not even close, a good season in the VCT Americas League, as they finished ninth in the regular season, did not play in the playoffs, and did not have the desired success in the VCT LCQ Americas. In addition, the team could only play in one international tournament, the VCT LOK//IN Sao Paulo 2023, where they lost 0-2 to Talon Esports.

According to these reports, the Brazilian organization has contacted the three aforementioned superstars. This would be a big turnaround in the organization’s structure and plans since, as we know, MIBR maintained a Brazilian core for the first two years of its walk in the VALORANT competitive scene.

Similarly, these are not the only players linked to MIBR this offseason, as several reports also highlight that Gustavo “GuhRVN” Ferreira and Ilan “havoc” Eloy could also be options for the Brazilian squad.

Much work to be done by MIBR

While it is true that these are just rumors, we should keep in mind that several days ago, both nitr0 and aspas were linked to other VCT organizations. On the part of nitr0, everything seemed to indicate that he would reach an agreement to play with M80 in the next Challengers League season. On the other hand, aspas had reportedly verbally agreed with Leviatán. Finally, yay has not had a busy offseason, as he has not yet been linked with any team.

There is no doubt that, should these signings materialize, it would be a coup for MIBR on the VCT scene, as, in addition to a clean slate, the team would have a truly fearsome lineup. In addition, MIBR only has Matheus “RgLM” Rodigoli on its roster at the moment, so yes or yes, they will have to restructure their lineup.
