After several seasons together, Acend says goodbye to the last player in that lineup that won the VALORANT Champions 2021, the Polish Patryk “starxo” Kopczyński.

A few hours ago, Acend made public the news that they were officially saying goodbye to starxo after almost two years with the team.

As mentioned, starxo was the only player remaining in Acend of those who won the VALORANT Champions 2021, the first VALORANT Tactical Shooter World Championship.

About starxo

Polish player Patryk “starxo” Kopczyński, 21, became a professional VALORANT player just a few weeks after the game’s launch in 2020 with the THOSE GUYS team.

He then had a brief three-month internship with the Czech organization Entropiq and a two-month internship with Raise Your Edge Gaming.

Finally, starxo joined Acend in March 2021, thus making up the spectacular squad with BONECOLD, cNed, Kiles, koldamenta, and coach Laurynas “Nbs” Kisielius.

In June 2021, Acend decided to replace koldamenta with zeek. This was finally the overwhelming lineup that would win the VALORANT Champions in December 2021, defeating Gambit in the grand final with an excellent 3-2.

Acend was not the same in 2022

Despite having a spectacular 2021, starxo and the rest of the team never showed the same form in 2022. The only halfway good achievement was second place in the VALORANT Superdome, where they lost to Fnatic in the Grand Final.

The end of the team’s project was undoubtedly when the ten teams for the EMEA partnership program for VCT 2023 were announced, and Acend was not included in that.

Following this, starxo decided to step aside last September 21 and was moved to the team’s bench. Since then, the player has been looking for new offers to continue his professional career.

“First two years in my life as a pro player, I couldn’t ask for more from Acend and all of the boys; all of the support and memories will stay with me until the end of my life for sure,” starxo said. “I’m really grateful for this opportunity; we built a hell of a history. Time to move on.”

Future of starxo

No one knows yet what will happen with starxo’s future or if he has been in contact with any VALORANT organization to play in 2023.

A plus point in starxo’s career is that he has won one of the most important tournaments in the VALORANT competitive scene. So, it is very likely that he has at least had some conversations with those teams that were part of the partnership program.

Currently, KOI is the only team in the EMEA league still without a fifth player for the 2023 VCT season. We don’t know if that’s where it’s headed, but if starxo wants to stay at the top level of VALORANT, this would be a golden opportunity.
