The German organization Sprout recently announced via Twitter that they will be withdrawing from the League of Legends scene for the time being. The line-up failed to produce the desired results.

Sprout is a German esports organization that has teams in CS:GO and League of Legends. While the team is better known for its CS line-up, they have now announced their departure from the League of Legends scene. The reason for Sprout’s withdrawal is the lack of success. The team failed to meet the organization’s goals and as a result, decided to close the League of Legends division and no longer field a team.

Sprout comments on League of Legends exit

The statement read:

Unfortunately, despite our collective commitment, relentless hard work, and the unwavering support of our community, we were unable to match our set ambitions. As we navigate this period of international realignment, which we have already undergone with our CounterStrike

team, we consider this momentary setback to serve as an opportunity for growth and self-reflection to face the many challenges that lie ahead. While this may, for now, mark the end of one chapter, we await the next nearing one with even greater excitement. Ultimately, we will emerge stronger and more determined than ever before.

From the final sentence, it can be deduced that it may not be the absolute end of the organization in the title. Sprout may well re-enter the League of Legends scene at some point in the future, although that’s likely in the distant future.

This was Sprout’s League of Legends line-up. While there’s no official confirmation yet, the following players are likely all free agents:

  • Fabijan “Raider” Mandaric
  • Stephane “Manaty” Dimier
  • Tristan “Pak” Bourquelot
  • Leon “Riku” Ali
  • Marc “Ephekles” Küchler
  • Hoarau “Ego” Christony
  • Lovro “ZwiS” Zeljko

Team did not bring the desired results

The team competed in the second division and took part in events like the Prime League SuperCup 2022 where they only finished 17-23. made space. While they did better at some other C-Tier events like the Prime League 2nd Division Spring 2023, it wasn’t good enough to fulfill the organization’s wishes. Sprout wanted to aim high with his League of Legends team, but that doesn’t seem possible at the moment.

Fans can rest easy though, as Sprout still has a CS:GO team to compete with. Coached by Danny “Berry” Krüger, the Danish-Romanian-Australian line-up last competed at the Intel Extreme Masters in Dallas.
