After the end of the IEM Dallas 2023, where we enjoyed a spectacular race by ENCE, who lifted the champions trophy, we have that there are still some problems with players and their visas to enter North America.

We are talking specifically about Complexity Gaming for the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 because, according to different reports, Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli’s visa problems continue, and he will not be able to attend the tournament. As a result, Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek will remain COL’s AWPer for this event.

This will be Sonic’s second chance to prove his worth, as we can’t deny that the player had an excellent performance at IEM Dallas 2023. Now, he should take this opportunity to try to get a permanent home to continue his career.

Sonic would continue with Complexity Gaming for the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023

According to information from Dust2.us, Sonic would be an AWPer replacement for Complexity Gaming for the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023. This move would be for the same reason they played in IEM Dallas 2023, as hallzerk continues to have visa issues.

A few days ago, COL contacted Sonic to replace hallzerk only to play IEM Dallas 2023, as the Norwegian is still having trouble getting into the USA. However, this situation has been recurring for the Norwegian AWPer recently. In addition to being unable to attend IEM Dallas, hallzerk came close to missing the RMR Americas in Monterrey, Mexico, for the same reason. However, the player managed to get last-minute permission to attend the tournament.

However, neither the organization nor the player have found a way to resolve the visa issues, as hallzerk cannot make the trip to NA.

Sonic is the ideal replacement for COL

While Sonic was called in as an emergency replacement for hallzerk in IEM Dallas 2023, this is not the first time he has played under these colors. It all started in the 2021/22 season when he played for C9 and Extra Salt, where he took his first steps in this organization. However, hallzerk decided to retire from the CS:GO competitive scene at the end of 2021, while his teammates signed for COL when the organization wanted to return to NA.

After nine months in retirement, the South African player returned to the scene to play with Nixuh, a team he played with for the last five months of 2022. He is doing it for Complexity Gaming in two of the last CS:GO tournaments.

While the player has had several competitive breaks in the last two years, there is no doubt that his talent and performance are still at his best. Sonic was Complexity Gaming’s top player at IEM Dallas and had an excellent Rating of 1.12 during the team’s six maps.
