The third day of the final Major of the Call of Duty League 2023 season is history. Atlanta FaZe and Minnesota RØKKR scored excellent victories to advance to the Winners Bracket Final.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that the race of Las Vegas Legion, LA Thieves, and Florida Mutineers has come to an end in this Major V. As a result, we already know which will be the eight teams that will be present in the next CDL Championship 2023:

  • Atlanta FaZe
  • OpTic Texas
  • Toronto Ultra
  • New York Subliners
  • LA Thieves
  • Minnesota RØKKR
  • Boston Breach
  • Seattle Surge

Let’s see what happened on the third day of CDL 2023 Major V games

NY Subliners leave Las Vegas Legion and Florida Mutineers on the road

After falling in the first match of this Major V to the hosts, Toronto Ultra, the NY Subliners boys managed to crush each opponent they faced in the Elimination Brackets. First, it was LA Guerrillas, then Las Vegas Legion, and finally, the Florida Mutineers, all of them with crushing 3-0 scores.

Now, against Las Vegas Legion, the Subliners started with an excellent victory at Embassy (Hardpoint) by 250-136. Then, the series ended in the same scenario (Breenbergh Hotel) but in two different game modes, Search&Destroy and Control. The Subliners earned 6-4 and 3-2 victories to stay alive in the Major V and send Las Vegas Legion home.

Next, the Subliners faced the Florida Mutineers, a team with a big push after an excellent win on the first day of Major V against OpTic Texas. However, this time they could do nothing against the Subliners and ended up losing 0-3.

It all started in Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint), where we enjoyed a balanced match, but, finally, the Subliners managed to keep the dominance on the map to take the victory by 250-236. The teams then moved to El Asilo, where the Subliners scored an excellent victory in Search&Destroy by 6-1 and Control by 3-2 to seal their ticket to Round 4 of the Elimination Bracket.

Minnesota RØKKR crush Florida Mutineers 3-0

Minnesota RØKKR continued to show great play in this Major V and got an excellent win over the Mutineers 3-0 to advance to the Winners Bracket final.

It all started with an intense match at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint), where either team could have won. However, the RØKKR could hold on to complete map dominance to secure the first victory by 250-224.

Then, in Mercado Las Almas (Search&Destroy), we saw how the RØKKR ended all the Mutineers’ chances of winning and securing the victory by 6-3. Finally, at Himmelmatt Expo (Control), Minnesota sealed their passage to the Winners Bracket final after a comfortable 3-1 win.

Atlanta FaZe send Toronto Ultra to Elimination Brackets

Atlanta FaZe beat the home team of this Major V, Toronto Ultra, with a score of 3-1 to send them to the Elimination Brackets of the tournament.

The series began at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint), where Atlanta FaZe struck the first blow by taking an excellent 250-216 victory. Then, at Embassy (Search&Destroy), both teams gave us their best possible level of play, and, in a nail-biting round, the Ultra managed to even the series 1-1 after a very close 6-5 victory.

The teams moved on to Himmelmatt Expo (Control), where Atlanta FaZe dealt a heavy blow to the home team’s hopes by crushing them 3-0. Finally, in another close and exciting match, FaZe took the victory 250-242 at Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint).

As a result, the Ultra fell to the Elimination Brackets, where a few hours later, they faced LA Thieves, whom they defeated with relative ease in just three games.

Coincidentally, all three games between Toronto Ultra and LA Thieves were played at the Breenbergh Hotel. First, in Hardpoint, the Ultra took the victory by 250-175. Then, we had a spectacular match at Search&Destroy, where Toronto could pull out all the stops to take the narrow 6-5 victory. Finally, the Ultra’s won 3-1 in Control to stay alive in the Major played at home.
