There is no doubt that this 2023 season was disappointing for 100 Thieves in the North American League of Legends scene or LCS. Despite having great players and a big name in NA, the team did not meet their goals and did not live up to the expectations that revolved around them.

However, the team will likely want to restructure their lineup heading into next season, and, most likely, one of the most promising talents in NA will make it to the team. We are talking about Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, who is currently only 16 years old and, due to his young age, has only played in Tier 2 or Challenger teams and even in the 100 Thieves Academy.

As a result, the American talent is expected to get his first chance to compete at LoL’s top level, namely in the LCS.

Reports claim that 100 Thieves will promote Sniper to the main team by 2024

After 100 Thieves’ disappointing season in 2023, the organization looks set to promote its top Academy talent, Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, to the main team. Moreover, Alejandro Gomis, the popular Esports journalist, revealed this news.

This is an unsurprising move, considering that 100T is one of the organizations that maintains its development program. In addition, a new face could freshen up the team’s lineup and help them have a good season.

Likewise, if this move is completed, it is obvious that there would be a sacrifice, and that is where the surprise would be. As we know, Sniper occupies the position of Toplaner, so his arrival would be in the place of superstar Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, who came to the team after a brief period in Evil Geniuses.

On the other hand, it would also mean a completely new start for this team, as let’s remember that the 2023 season started with two veterans and legends of the game such as Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg. However, this squad packed with superstars was not successful at all, so, most likely, changes are coming. Likewise, this move could affect Sniper’s performance a bit, as he would be the youngest player in the league.

About Sniper

Sniper started his career on the LoL scene in NA with 100 Next, an all-amateur 100T lineup in 2021. However, thanks to his talent and excellent play, the player caught the organization’s attention, and by 2022, he signed a contract to play for the Academy team.

It is also fair to note that Sniper is the younger brother of Omran “V1per” Shoura, who has played for several LCS teams over the past few years.

There is no doubt that this young player has the talent and, more importantly, the potential to be one of the next stars of the LCS. In addition, the NA scene is no stranger to having promising young players shine. For example, we have EG’s talented mid-laner, Joseph “jojopyun” Pyun, who has managed to dominate the LCS scene with only 2 years in it.

Now, we can only wait to see if this move becomes official and if Sniper succeeds in his first professional season.
