S1mple engage in a controversial argument with Woro2k

Oleksandr’s1mple’ Kostyliev and Volodymyr ‘Woro2k’ Veletniuk, two Ukrainian CS:GO players who competed together in Kinguin Legends 2022 last week, are at odds on Twitter following the loss.

The controversy took place at Kinguin Legends 2022, where Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, the current world No. 1 player, teamed up with ex-NAVI teammate Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev for the tournament final.Together with Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev, he filled in for Serhii “DemQQ” Demchenko and Evhen “j3kie” Serhachev in Edward’s team.

After placing fourth in group play, Edward advanced all the way to the finals via the gauntlet-style playoff bracket, whereas Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, in contrast, advanced directly to the final after winning the group stage. While fans were expecting a showstopper from NAVI’s superstar player, Team Maikelele pulled off an absolute shocker, thrashing the fan favourites. Although Edward’s team managed to push the last map into overtime, Team Maikelele stepped up their game in the dying seconds and clinched the championship with a 2-1 victory.

What sparked the drama between Woro2k and S1mple?

The event, which was meant to be a cheerful CS:GO tournament with the purpose to celebrate some of the finest CS:GO players, instead ended on a controversial note after a scathing Twitter debate between Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk took place on the final day of the game. Woro2k complimented every player on the Ukrainian team except s1mple in a public statement he posted on Twitter after the game.

While mocking him for accomplishing nothing himself, he tweeted that playing CS:GO alongside s1mple was not fun. The tweet drew a strong response from s1mple, who said that Woro2k did not comprehend the concept of team play in CS:GO and lacked communication skills. Woro2k responded right away, stating that even though he lacked communication skills, s1mple had no right to speak negatively of him. He further pointed out S1mple’s performance in specific rounds to explain his point, stating how he would feel if he was treated the same way for his mistakes.

S1mple, who has a reputation for being difficult to work with throughout his career, chose to put a stop to the argument from his side, but not before calling Woro2k a dumb player. In his final comment, Woro2k pointed out that even s1mple also had poor performance in a few of the tournament’s rounds, suggesting he concentrate on his own game rather than yelling at other players. Both of the players have not posted any more Tweets targeting each other, ending the Ukrainian beef, at least for the time being.
