European organization Rogue has announced its new League of Legends roster, shortly ahead of the new LEC season. Jungler “Malrang” has been added to the linuep, along with AD carry “Comp”, giving Rogue a good mixture of youth and experience.

The arrivals come off the back of “Inspired” and “Hans Sama” leaving. Malrang is a former DWG KIA substitute, while Comp made his name with Team Vitality. The duo will now team up with top laner Andrei “Pascu” Odamne, mid laner Emil “Larssen” Larsson and support Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus, with the team currently preparing for the Spring Split.

Why Rogue Opted for Malrang & Comp

Inspired and Hans Sama will both compete in North America in 2022, having joined Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid, respectively. The duo were part of the Rogue lineup from 2019, with the Pole and Frenchman having helped make the org one of the top teams in the region. It remains to be seen as to Rogue will fare without them, although Malrang and Comp look to be good replacements, on paper at least.

Malrang began his professional career in 2017, having competed under the banner of Ever8 Winner, who featured in the Challengers Korea scene. Having won the split, the team qualified for the LCK 2017 Summer Split, where they ultimately finished in last place, meaning that they missed out on the upcoming split. Malrang was eventually acquired by Royal Bandits in the TCL, before he returned to Winners.

The Korean pro then secured a switch to Jin Air Green Wings, where he was unfortunate to once again find himself on a struggling roster. The team would only win one series in 2019, which ultimately saw Malrang move to KT Rolster, before he was named as the starting jungler for DK Academy. He featured at the 2021 LCK Summer Split, with the 21-year-old having demonstrated his significant potential during the event.

It has been a different path for Comp, who has been a regular for Team Vitality over recent years. Having just turned 20, Comp has been a pro since back in 2015, having initially featured for different Greek outfits, including Elysium Gaming. His performances there helped Comp secure a move to Team-LDLC, who dominated the Spring and Summer Splits in the French League. It came as no surprise when he was picked up by Team Vitality.

Can the New Arrivals Make the Difference for Rogue?

While Comp and Team Vitality failed to live up to expectations, with the org having finished om the bottom-two in three consecutive years, a move to Rogue could be just what the AD carry needs. He was replaced by Jus “Crownshot” Marusic at Team Vitality, while Rogue will be looking to build upon their impressive recent run, even if they have disappointed when the playoffs roll around. With the LEC getting underway in January, fans will not have to wait long to see how Malrang and Comp settle in.
