As the years go by, Riot Games does its best to please its beloved fans, who, by the way, are millions of people around the world. Moreover, just a few seasons ago, it was completely unthinkable that Riot would officially allow streamers to broadcast matches via co-streaming. However, that is now history.

Just as they have done in VALORANT with the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023, in the LEC co-streaming with KOI and Team Heretics, and in the LCS with different streamers, Riot Games announced 30 talents who are approved to co-stream on their Twitch accounts from MSI 2023. This becomes the first time in history that Riot has allowed such broadcasts at an international tournament.

In previous years, the streamer or anyone else attempting to do these broadcasts would undoubtedly get their accounts terminated for some time or permanently. Now, these broadcasts will be possible with the changes to streaming Riot Games has made in recent years.

Riot Games Announces Co-streaming for MSI 2023

Through the official LoL Esports Twitter account, Riot Games announced that, for the first time ever, they would allow co-streaming at MSI 2023.

The official LoLesports blog details that they have selected more than 30 co-streamers from different regions and languages to be part of the virtual environment of MSI 2023. There is no doubt that this is great news for all fans, as there will always be preferences when selecting a match broadcast of our favorite teams.

However, the details about which of the 30+ streamers will be part of the MSI 2023 co-streaming team are unknown. In addition to these personalities, the teams can co-stream from their official accounts. So there are no excuses for all fans to enjoy the event to the fullest.

What happens to the streamers not selected?

As has been the case so far, those streamers not selected to be part of the official MSI 2023 co-streaming must follow the same guidelines as Riot Games. This means streamers can broadcast the match and post videos or images as long as the match or the official broadcast is over.

The videos posted by these streamers must have, according to Riot Games, “15 consecutive minutes of such footage”. In addition, content creators can “include up to three videos per game within a single broadcast.”. However, “none of them can exceed the 15-minute limit”.

There is no doubt that this is excellent news for all those content creators and their followers who Riot chooses. As we mentioned, it all started at the regional level when Riot allowed KOI and Team Heretics to do it in the LEC in the first Split of the season, and there is no doubt that it was a resounding success.

Now, the organizers hope to replicate this success in the first international event of the 2023 season, the MSI.
