Two more action games will be added in the burgeoning number of titles to be played at the 2024 Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia – PUBG Mobile and Rainbow Six Siege.

PUBG Mobile’s inclusion in the Esports World Cup will replace the PUBG Mobile World Invitational as the esport title’s official mid-season tourney. It was last held last Summer in Saudi Arabia during the Gamers8 Cup. PUBGM mid-season invitationals have been held yearly since 2021.

“Our midseason tournament has always been a fan favourite, bringing the world’s best players together in summer for an action-packed event that always provides excitement, drama and amazing stories,” said James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports Center at Tencent.

“That’s why we’re so excited to have the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) be part of the Esports World Cup, it will mean an even greater competition for PUBG Mobile fans. This won’t be a tournament to miss,” Yang added.

The PUBGM tourney is expected to have a US$3 million prize pool. Tournament information and qualification are still to be announced.

Meanwhile, Rainbow Six Siege has also been announced for the Esports World Cup, with prizepool and tourney bracket information still to be announced.

The Esports World Cup is part of Saudi Arabia’s National Gaming and Esports Strategy. “The Esports World Cup is the natural next step in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become the premier global hub for gaming and esports, offering an unmatched esports experience that pushes the boundaries of the industry. The competition will enhance our progress towards realizing the Vision 2030 objectives of diversifying the economy, growing the tourism sector, creating new jobs in various industries, and providing world-class entertainment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Previously, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft II, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and other titles have been announced for the 2024 Esports World Cup.
