PlayStation announces acquisition of Firewalk Studios

Yesterday, the PlayStation blog announced that Firewalk Studios was joining PlayStation Studio.

For some time now, Firewalk Studios and PlayStation have been working together. Specifically, they have been working together on developing a triple-A game for PlayStation. However, it has now been announced that Firewalk Studios is joining the Sony family.

The head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, has made an official announcement on the company’s blog announcing the acquisition of Firewalk Studios. These two studios signed a collaboration agreement about two years ago to develop a video game.

Firewalk Studios, a video game developer, was founded by experienced industry experts. The studio is made up of more than 150 workers who are currently in charge of the creation of a triple-A multiplayer title to be published by PlayStation.

As reported by Hulst, the collaboration agreement has now been extended. As a result, Firewalk Studios has now become part of a large family alongside other renowned studios such as Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Media Molecule, and Santa Monica Studio.

According to what Hulst has published, the entire PlayStation Studios team is very excited to incorporate all the creative and technical talent of Firewalk into this great family.

On the other hand, Hulst comments that Firewalk shares a love and passion for building creative worlds with top-notch gameplay. He adds that working hand in hand, they can achieve great things for all gaming fans.

Also, in the Blog announcement, Hermen Hulst states that PlayStation Studios’ experience can greatly help Firewalk. In this way, great games and services will be developed for all players of PlayStation consoles.

Studio acquisition follows several years of cooperation

As mentioned above, both studios have worked together for several years. Now they finally become part of a single family. To celebrate the addition to PlayStation Studios, Ryan Elli and Tony Hsu, game director and studio head of Firewalk Studios, respectively, also wanted to share with the community an open letter.

In this letter, the heads of Firewalk Studios take a few lines to remember ProbablyMonsters, the label by which this developer is known and also mentioned in the collaboration agreement with PlayStation announced two years ago.

On the other hand, they also comment that they have been working with Hermen and the talented PlayStation Studios team for some years. Thanks to that work together, Firewalk, the new title they are working on, is much better than they had originally thought.
