Like all offseasons of the VALORANT competitive scene, this 2023 one has not been free of many surprises. For now, we have seen the problems within the organization that just became world champion Evil Geniuses. At the same time, we have witnessed some unexpected signings like that of Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker by Bleed Esports.

However, yay will not be the only NA player to make the big jump to Pacific, as, last November 9, the popular Korean organization, T1, announced the signing of Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo. Remember that Rossy has played with three North American teams: Turtle Troop, TSM, and FaZe. This is undoubtedly another surprising move, considering that Rossy is moving from the Americas to the Pacific, two completely different regions.

T1 announces Rossi signing

Through an official statement on its Twitter/X account, T1 announced the signing of American Rossi ahead of VCT 2024. Furthermore, this is T1’s fourth signing this offseason, which tells us that the team is trying to arm itself in the best possible way for the upcoming season.

On the other hand, it is also fair to mention that, despite being T1’s fourth signing this offseason, the team’s roster currently has 7 players. As a result, T1 will be one of those teams that will have to choose the lineups for matches from these players.

About Rossi

For all of us who follow the VALORANT competitive scene, there is no doubt that Rossi is one of the first people we think of when we refer to NA. The 20-year-old American began his career in 2021 playing for Immortals.

However, in early 2022, he signed for TSM, where he stayed for a full season, and they went on to win the MCT – MEL Valorant Premiership – Season 3 Playoffs.

Finally, at the beginning of 2023, Rossy signed for FaZe Clan in a somewhat strange move, as he only stayed for 2 months in the team. Since then, Rossy played in Challengers level teams, highlighting, of course, Turtle Troop.

On the other hand, talking about his role within the game, we can say that he is an excellent starter who plays mainly with KAY/O and Breach.

While it is true that Rossy helped Turtle Troop to achieve permanence in the NA Challengers scene, this offseason, several offers came to him, and he decided to leave for the farthest one, but the one that could be the most competitive, T1.

Will Rossy get playing time in T1?

As mentioned, T1 has a roster that, at the moment, has 7 players. As a result, Rossy will have to do his job very well to earn his spot as the team’s undisputed starter for the upcoming season.

In addition, it is also fair to mention that T1 has a predefined starting five, so Rossy has to fight and show all his potential to make a place in this lineup.

Finally, there is also the language issue, as Rossy does not speak Korean, and most of the team does. So, we will have to wait and see if they decide to switch to English communication or if the Americans will have to learn Korean in the coming months.
