We have a champion! Team North Macedonia has revalidated its dominance at the IESF World Esports Championship by taking home the championship trophy and a juicy $50,000 prize.

The IESF World Esports Championship took place from November 7-11 in Bali, Indonesia, with eight teams from Europe, Latin America, CIS, and Asia competing for glory and a share of the $100,000 prize pool.

North Macedonia vs. Mongolia – Grand Final

The team representing North Macedonia was made up entirely of players from team BLUEJAYS, who have an excellent track record within the competitive esports scene playing CS:GO.

While BLUEJAYS does not currently participate in S-Level tournaments, they are the most dominant team at C-Level, so it is not a surprise that they took home the champions trophy at this event.

Now, North Macedonia, or the BLUEJAYS, whatever you want to call them, overcame the Mongolian team in the final with a score of 1-3 to become champions of the IESF World Esports Championship.

Players formed the Mongolian team from IHC Esports, an organization less than two years old, and have made history in this 2022 season by qualifying for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

Even though the Mongolian boys seemed to dominate the match at times, they could not finish in the critical moment of the Grand Final match.

With this victory, Macedonia won its second consecutive IESF World Championship.

Team North Macedonia

North Macedonia did not have an easy tournament, as it was quite the opposite, as they were on the verge of elimination in more matches than in Upper Bracket matches.

Their debut was outstanding, beating Indonesia with a score of 2-0, the host team of this world championship. However, in the second game, they lost to Team IESF, the Russian players who belong to Team QUAZAR and participated under anonymous representation due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, with a score of 1-2.

This forced North Macedonia to overcome Argentina and Germany and take revenge on the QUAZAR team to qualify for the finals.

Team Mongolia

On the other hand, the Mongolian boys had a somewhat easier road compared to North Macedonia. After 0-2 against Vietnam in the first match, the IHC Esports players used their experience in the last Majors to win with a 1-2 score against Germany (BIG Academy) and Team ISF.

This left the Mongolian team with a map win in the final as a reward for overcoming the entire Upper Bracket. But unfortunately, the IHC members did not translate that performance into the Grand Final.

Grand Final

The grand final would be played in a best-of-five format, and, as mentioned, Mongolia came in with a game in hand for having made it through the entire Upper Bracket without losing a single game.

However, North Macedonia was always superior in this series, closing two first halves with impressive dominance.

The series opened with a 16-3 win for the BLUEJAYS in Mirage. Then, in the second map (Inferno), the Mongolian team offered a little resistance, but it was not enough, and they ended up falling with a score of 8-16.

Finally, the Macedonians won the third and last map, Dust2, with a 16-7.

The decisive player for North Macedonia in this Grand Final was Aleksandar “CacaNito” Kjulukoski, who finished with impressive statistics, 74-34 K-D, a +/- of +40, and 116 ADR.
