The excitement of BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 continues. Heroic, the current #1 team in the world according to the HLTV world rankings, qualified for the Group B Grand Final after a crushing 2-0 victory over NaVi.

There is no doubt that this was one of the most anticipated matches of this tournament, as it was the true test of NaVi’s new lineup. However, everything indicates that the team’s synergy and Team Play are not solid for now, as they were crushed in every way.

In the other group match, BIG survives against Astralis to continue life in the Lower Bracket of Group B. On the other hand, we have Astralis becoming the second team eliminated from the tournament.

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023.

Heroic crush NaVi to qualify for the Group B Grand Final

There is no doubt that Heroic proves, every time they can, their high level of play in top-level tournaments. This time, it was NaVi’s turn to suffer the consequences of a very compact team with Martin “stavn” Lund at his best level of play.

It all started in Mirage, NaVi’s map pick, where Casper “cadiaN” Møller brought out all his talent to lead his team to victory. Heroic started very strong in the first half, winning 9-6. Likewise, everything seemed to indicate that NaVi would have the ability to stop Heroic’s onslaught, which is why they selected this map to play it. However, cadiaN overcame each of NaVi’s defensive approaches to lead Heroic to a 16-9 victory.

Then, on the second map, Inferno, stavn dressed as a hero for Heroic, as he had impressive stats of 124.5 ADR and a 1.70 Rating. In the first half and on the T-side, Heroic made a big hit on the table to take a partial victory by 11-4. Then, NaVi tried to wake up by winning six rounds at the change of sides, but this was not enough, and they finally fell by 10-16.

With this result, NaVi must play the pass to the Group B Grand Final against BIG. At the same time, Heroic awaits the winner of that match.

BIG apply a reverse sweep against Astralis

The second match of the day was a pitched battle between BIG and Astralis, which ended with a reverse sweep by the Germans to stay alive in the tournament.

BO3 started at Anubis, BIG’s map pick, where the Danish team, Astralis, showed an impressive level of play by Johannes “b0RUP” Borup. In the first half, Astralis started very strong stopping the attacks of the Germans, and took a partial victory by 9-6. Then, they dealt a hard blow to BIG at the change of sides and took the victory with a comfortable 16-8.

On the second map, Ancient, things changed radically, as BIG managed to take the victory to even the series 1-1. After a tight first half, which ended with a score of 8-7 in favor of BIG, Astralis showed many flaws in their CT side and were comfortably overcome by the Germans. Finally, BIG takes a 16-10 victory that keeps them alive in the series.

Finally, in the last and decisive map, Overpass, we enjoyed a match full of intensity and emotion. However, once again, we could notice how the teams are very well prepared on the T-side of Overpass, something that did not happen before. In the first half, BIG took a narrow victory (on their T-side) with a score of 8-7. Then, at the change of sides, Astralis showed that their attacking side is also really strong, but BIG’s defense was able to stop them greatly, and they ended up taking the victory by 16-14.
