Complexity secure final spot for IEM Sydney 2023

After an intense IEM Sydney 2023: NA Qualifier, Complexity Gaming beat M80 in the tournament’s Grand Final to secure the last spot for IEM Sydney 2023.

In the Upper Bracket semifinals, the team lost 1-2 to Forsaken, something no one expected on the scene. However, COL bounced back in the Lower Bracket with wins over Nouns Esports, took revenge on Forsaken, and finally crushed M80 in the Grand Final.

Now, we have the 16 teams that will be part of the return of the top-level CS:GO competitive scene to Australia, IEM Sydney 2023.

Complexity Gaming’s Road in the IEM Sydney 2023: NA Qualifier

As mentioned, COL started its journey in the IEM Sydney 2023: NA Qualifier with an unexpected loss to Forsaken in the tournament’s first match. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and his teammates were very disappointed and, above all, surprised after this loss.

However, the team gathered all their talent and managed to bounce back in a great way, as they had an undefeated run in the Lower Bracket, beating Nouns Esports and Forsaken 2-0.

Complexity Gaming vs. M80 – Game Recap

The Grand Final match between COL and M80 started on Anubis, M80’s map pick, where Johnny “JT” Theodosiou (COL) and Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa (M80) had an impressive head-to-head. However, COL started on the right foot by taking a partial win on their T-side by 12-3. Then, at the change of sides, M80 made up a bit of the score by winning 7 rounds, but this was not enough, and they ended up falling by 10-16.

Then, in Overpass, the dominance of COL continued greatly, especially after taking a partial victory on their T-side in the first half by 9-6. Finally, with a very well-put-together defense, Complexity Gaming took the victory by 16-8 to seal their ticket to the IEM Sydney 2023.

Complexity becomes the last team to qualify for the BIG REUNION at IEM Sydney 2023 with this win. There is no doubt that all the participating teams are top-level and that we will have a truly spectacular tournament.
