NICKMERCS’ MFAM Gauntlet returns with a $200K prize pool

There is no doubt that Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff continues to support the Apex Legends community, and this time, he is coming back strong with a new edition of his MFAM Gauntlet tournament, which will have a $200K prize pool.

NICKMERCS is one of the best-known streamers in the Apex Legends community; as well as competing in the NA Pro League with Tripods, he organizes these kinds of tournaments to help the community.

NICKMERCS announces the first MFAM Gauntlet of 2023

It’s only three months into the year, and FaZe Clan streamer NICKMERCS has announced the return of the Apex Legends MFAM Gauntlet.

As we noted in the announcement, the tournament lasts two days and has a prize pool of $200k. In addition, it was also announced that there would be 20 participating teams in this edition. However, the great novelty of this tournament will be that it will not be played in the classic Battle Royale format but in the new Apex game mode, Team Deathmatch.

As we mentioned, the tournament will last two days and start today, March 29, with a qualifying tournament where the first $50K will be distributed. Then, finally, on March 31, the main event will be held where the rest of the prize pool, i.e., $150K, will be distributed.

On the other hand, special prizes have also been announced for victories, plus kills in each lobby and at the end of each Round.

How to participate in the MFAM Gauntlet?

To participate in the tournament, players will have to access the official Twitch channel of NICKMERCS and, in addition, subscribe. After that, those who want to participate must be present at the NICKMERCS broadcast on the day of the event.

A completely random selection will then be made in the Twitch channel chat, where the 20 team captains will be chosen. In addition, each of the selected captains must have two battle-ready teammates to form the trio. Finally, the total number of participants amounts to 60.

Tournament Format

The MFAM Gauntlet will be played in three phases; one called Roud 1, the Wild Card Round, and the Final Round.

Round 1

The 20 trios (60 participants) will be randomly paired to form squads of six players and play seven matches in the first Round in a Round-Robin format. Finally, the top seven trios from this round advance to the Final Round based on their W/L record.

Wild Card Round

Those trios that finished in 8th-11th place will have to play the Wild Card Round in a Gun Run round, giving us the eighth team to seal their ticket to the next phase.

Final Round

Finally, the last eight trios will face each other in the Final Round in a Bracket-Style format, also in Team Deathmatch. The two trios that win this phase will take home a prize of $54,000, or $9,000 for each player.

The MFAM TDM Gauntlet is the largest tournament ever organized by NICKMERCS

NICKMERCS has organized different MFAM Gauntlet tournaments during the last few years. However, this edition has become the biggest (in terms of prizes to be distributed). The maximum prize that NICKMERCS had distributed in its previous tournaments was $50,000.
