VALORANT players have been continuously asking Riot Games to add a new game mode as there were no new additions following the release of the Replication mode back in May 2021. However, according to the latest leaks, fans might possibly get to play 1-vs-1 in VALORANT soon.
On May 31, Twitter account ValorantLeaks shared that Riot Games is developing a 1v1 VALORANT mode. The account shared a screenshot of the game’s main menu with a new mode at the top of the screen.

Riot Games allegedly developing 1v1 game mode
The source also later added that the mode is currently in development and players allegedly need to score 10 or 13 points to win the match. Apart from that, however, there’s no additional information about the mode. At the time of writing, Riot hasn’t officially confirmed the development of the game mode, nor the possible release date.
There is an assumption among the community that in this mode, the developers will abandon using characters’ spells so that players can focus more on aiming skills and gameplay. The mode could also possibly take place in special or limited locations on different maps, however, this is only a supposition.
VALORANT fans seem to be super-excited about the new mode mainly because of the long waiting time for the next game update. Moreover, this type of play can be considered a “classic”, since players love to prove their superiority in 1-on-1 matches after the main game.
The unranked matches could be accompanied by Quickplay mode
Following the leak, another source posted the expanded version of the original image and fans noticed another game mode called Quickplay. There’s no info on how this mode would differ from regular Unranked matches, however, we can assume that Quickplay could feature fewer match points to win the game. For example, in the CS:GO version of the mode, players need to win 9 matches instead of 16 to end the game. This mode could save a lot of time for players since one regular VALORANT match takes from 20 to 40 minutes.
