What’s new in CS:GO? December 13 update notes

Not even a month has passed since the last big update of CS:GO by Valve, where we had a rotation in the official Map Pool and a historic nerf to the AWP, and on the night of December 13, the game received a new update.

Undoubtedly, this fact surprised all CS:GO players who were not expecting a new update to be released these days. However, the most striking changes revolve around changes in game mode maps and fixing some bugs.

Not many changes in the new patch

This latest game update does not come with as many changes as the one on November 18. However, it shook up the scene by introducing Anubis into the Map Pool, replacing the iconic Dust2, and the much-talked-about changes to the AWP and M4A1-S.

This time, the developers have focused on fixing some “minor” elements in the gameplay and rotating the maps in some of the game modes.

Boyard & Chalice

This map pair now becomes part of the official Matchmaking in Wingman mode. This marks the departure of Blagai, Cascade, and Breach from the official MM.

Discounts on the IEM Rio Major capsules

It is also announced that the IEM Rio Major sticker capsules have been sold at a 75% discount.

2023 service medal added

The 2023 service medal is not so different from previous years. As it has always been, it is unlocked when players reach level 40, i.e., when Global General status is achieved.

Service medals are given to consistent players for an entire season and can be displayed in every game.

Please note that this medal will be available from January 1, 2023, so don’t be surprised if you haven’t yet seen it in your inventory.

Magic Molotov

Finally, Valve has set about fixing the Magic Molotov bug, which allowed incendiary grenades and Molotovs to fly longer than the intended two seconds on all maps.

This bug was in all maps of the game. Still, it became popular in Ancient, where professional players took advantage of taking control of the middle of the map so that opponents had to waste utilities on them.

• Blagai, Cascade, and Breach have been removed from official matchmaking.

• Autumn holidays are now over in Ember land.
