The second ESL Pro League S18 Quarterfinals match saw the Ukrainian team, NaVi, crush the Turkish team Eternal Fire to seal their ticket to the tournament’s semifinals. In addition, this also marks the end of Eternal Fire’s dream, as the team was inspired after beating Astralis and BIG in these playoffs.

On the other hand, this resounding victory of NaVi seems to ratify what was seen in the Group Stage, where the team looked solid and with great play. Moreover, it seems that the pieces are already starting to fit together, and if that happens, NaVi can become one of the strongest teams in the Counter-Strike competitive scene.

Finally, we can’t pass up this opportunity to congratulate Eternal Fire and all their hard work in this ESL Pro League S18. The team had to work their way into the Lower Bracket of their Group and, of course, start from day one of the playoffs. Likewise, the team beat two great squads, Astralis and BIG, in these playoffs, which, without a doubt, made them go home completely satisfied.

Let’s see what happened between NaVi and Eternal Fire in the ESL Pro League S18 series.

NaVi destroy Eternal Fire by 2-0

As mentioned, NaVi ended Eternal Fire’s dream of staying alive in the tournament and winning 5 matches against Tier 1 teams. The Ukrainian squad was much more than the Turkish one in this series, and that’s why the crushing 2-0 result may not surprise many.

The series between NaVi and Eternal Fire took place in Anubis and Nuke.

Anubis

It all started on Anubis, Eternal Fire’s map pick, where we could notice an incredible difference in level between the two squads. NaVi, in their T Side, started the map strong and managed to easily overcome EF’s defense to take a solid 10-5 victory in the first half.

Then, at the change of sides, Eternal Fire could win only 2 out of 8 rounds played to end up thus conceding on their map pick with a score of 7-16.

Nuke

On the second map, Nuke, things remained the same as on Anubis, with NaVi setting the tone of the match throughout.

In the first half, the Ukrainian squad again took an extraordinary victory on their T Side, with a score of 10-5. Then, Eternal Fire tried to wake up at the change of sides, winning 5 of the first 6 rounds to place the score 11-10 favorable to NaVi. However, it was all over as NaVi managed to win the last 5 rounds to take the 16-10 victory and seal their ticket to the ESL Pro League S18 semifinals.
