Moist Esports, the American esports organization founded by the popular streamer Charles “Cr1TiKaL” White Jr, has entered the professional Apex Legends scene, acquiring an unsigned lineup Team Burger. The Australian free agents have finally found their new home with Moist Esports ahead of the 2023 ALGS season

Moist Esports Esports has acquired the Australian free agent team that caused a stir at the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Championship this year. The trio of Matthew “Emtee” Trengrove, Ben “Wxltzy” Walton, and Joshua “Jaro” Green, who qualified for the world championships and gained worldwide attention, make up the team’s rock-solid core.

Back in 2021, Team Burger first caught everyone’s attention at the ALGS: Split 1 Playoff – APAC South, where they finished in fifth place and took home $5,500 USD in prize money. Even though they were an unsigned club, they continued to perform splendidly through 2022 and made it to the Split Two playoffs. The teams’ rock-solid performances during the Stockholm LAN helped them garner a lot of fan support.

Esports fans inspired by Burger’s performances formed a fan group called The Burger Brigade. The Brigade supported the free agent team by creating customized merchandise for the team including official jerseys. Fans also wore tiny cut-out burger signs, which slowly but surely traveled across the crowd over the course of the weekend as word of the team’s notoriety among the Apex Legends community continued to emerge. They ended the event in 15th place, beating out a lot of bigger and more established teams.

The Australian team achieved enough ALGS-Playoff Points to earn a spot in the global championship despite not taking home any A-tier event titles. Their performance at the ALGS World Championship, however, couldn’t overcome the top-tier teams, and they ended the event in 17th place. Their hard work has now paid off as Moist Esports will now be backing up the lineup in the 2023 ALGS season.

Moist Esports expands its territory

Moist Esports was founded by Moistcr1tikal for the sole purpose of dominating esports across its different popular game titles. With teams in Guilty Gear Strive and Super Smash Bros titles ( Melee and Ultimate), the organization initially entered the fighting games community (FGC). There are now five Smash Bros. players in the organization, including “Master” and “Kola.”

Moist also fields a Rocket League roster that won the 2021 Rocket League Championship Series Sprint, Spit Major. With team Burger’s signing, Moist Esports has now joined the Apex Legends professional scene, and the well-liked underdog squad seems to be the ideal fit for them. Team Burger, on the other hand, also has a bright future in the professional scene with the support of a highly reputable organization. Apex Legends Global Series season three will be Moist Esports’ Apex Legends debut, which will begin in the coming months.
