The transfer rumors continue in the VALORANT competitive scene amid this exciting offseason of VCT 2023. This time, we go to France with the popular team Karmine Corp, who have reached a verbal agreement with Martin “Magnum” Peňkov for VCT 2024.

Magnum is a former Fnatic and Apeks player and, according to reports in the last few hours, would have reached an agreement to join KCorp for the VCT EMEA League 2024. While it is true that this move is not yet fully confirmed, if done, it would be the first signing of the organization in its renewal for next season. Also, remember that KCorp had a disappointing 2023; most logically, they would make one or more changes.

Reports indicate that Magnum has reached an agreement with KCorp for next season

According to Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis, the popular esports journalist, former Fnatic and Apeks star Magnum has reportedly agreed to join KCorp for VCT 2024.

After a season playing on Tier 2 teams, Magnum joined alongside Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev to the Fnatic lineup in 2021. As a result, the Black & Orange squad began to reach new heights thanks to adding these two superstars.

However, Fnatic began to drop his level of play in the months that followed, and, as a result, the organization sent him to the inactive list, and he eventually left the team.

Then, Magnum signed for KOI, a team where he only lasted 3 months, as he could not have good chemistry with his teammates, and, in January 2023, he joined Apeks to play the 2023 season in the Challengers scene. Finally, after an excellent season with Apeks, where he helped the team to be the runner-up of the VCT Ascension EMEA, as they lost to Gentle Mates in the Grand Final, the player decides to explore his options for next season.

Magnum’s good performance

There is no doubt that Magnum was one of Apeks’ mainstays during 2023. Moreover, it is fair to mention that he was within the TOP 10 of the best players of the VCT EMEA Ascension with an excellent KAST. However, this was insufficient to help Apeks get the only quota awarded to the VCT EMEA League for 2024 and 2025.

If this move is confirmed, he could play at the highest competitive level with KCorp and face his former Fnatic teammates.

About KCorp

As mentioned, KCorp will try to assemble a solid team heading into the next VCT season since they had a disappointing VCT EMEA 2023.

The French squad changed IGLs many times in the middle of the season and still finished with a 2-7 record in the EMEA League regular season. In addition, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, the biggest name on the squad, left the team at the start of the offseason.

With Magnum, KCorp could add some stability and, above all, a high level of play to their roster, as the Czech has proven his great ability at the highest competitive level.
