The second competitive day of the Lima Major ended with eight victories and seven draws.

This was a tough day for a lot of teams, including TSM, who lost both of their matches, and Evil Geniuses, who only got one point out of four.

Key results

One of the biggest favorites to win the tournament, Team Liquid, finally found their Tour 1 form and won both matches. The first victory wasn’t very impressive because the opponent was Knights. But the second one, against Entity, was special. And they got the victory with ease.

Talon are quickly turning into one of the strongest teams at this tournament. They started with a draw against Gaimin Gladiators, followed by a victory against Execration. On the second day of the event, they got three more points. One against EG and two against TSM.

It seems that the addition of Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong has upgraded Talon’s roster significantly. Before, they were always struggling in important tournaments. But the experience of their new captain is vast and everyone can feel it. Especially their opponents.

BetBoom Team continued to draw against their opponents but it’s understandable why. They played against Team Aster and beastcoast, two of the strongest teams in their group. Given the best-of-two format, a draw in each match is not a bad result.

The only problem is that BetBoom had a rough day one, losing against Shopify Rebellion and then drawing against Team Liquid. But, all things considered, we will most likely see BB finish the group stage in the top four.

The truth is that so far, they had to face almost all of the top teams. Only Entity is left on the list. And let’s not forget that they are the only team that managed to steal a game from Liquid in the first two days of the Lima Major. These are all good signs.

Most likely, BetBoom will win at least three of their next four matches. The only one that looks like a draw is that against Entity.

Just as everyone predicted, the Chinese teams are struggling. It’s clear that the best players in the region are no longer competing and that Chinese Dota will soon be regarded as one of the weakest in the world. There’s simply nobody that can replace the giants who left and nobody understands why they all stepped down at the end of 2022.

Knights lost three consecutive matches, while EHOME are also sitting in ninth place in their group.
